131. The Treasure of the Sierra Madre: Special Edition (1948)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A worthwhile entry on the AFI 100 list, The Treasure of the Sierra Madre works for those who want a manly adventure or who prefer something with more subtext. It benefits from generally excellent acting, a compelling story, and deft direction. Starring Humphrey Bogart. Warner, $26.98, 9/30/2003.

132. Dirty Harry [Blu-Ray] (1971)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With 1971’s Dirty Harry, one of the screen’s most iconic characters made his debut. I can’t say he did so in grand fashion, as Harry doesn’t provide stellar filmmaking but it does act as a reasonably compelling action drama. Starring Clint Eastwood, Harry Guardino. Warner, $19.98, 6/3/2008.

133. Bullets Or Ballots (1936)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While not the most creative gangster movie ever made, Bullets or Ballots at least manages to remain quite entertaining. It holds up quite well after 70 years and creates an interesting view of a particular criminal element. Starring Edward G. Robinson, Humphrey Bogart. Warner, $19.97, 7/18/2006.

134. The Queen (2006)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: My favorite of the 2006 Oscar nominees, The Queen gives us a revealing and insightful look at recent history. We get a good feel for the inside perspective of these events and find a consistently interesting and intriguing take on the participants ... While I can’t call this an exceptional DVD, I like the movie very much and give it my recommendation. St

135. Peter Gabriel: Secret World Live (1994)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Peter Gabriel has always been a lively and vivid performer, and Secret World Live shows him in good form. The concert doesn’t always succeed, but it presents much more good than not and is a solid presentation. Starring Peter Gabriel. Universal, $19.98, 3/11/2003.

136. The Searchers: 50th Anniversary Ultimate Collector's Edition (1956)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I won't call The Searchers a bad movie, because it's not. However, I did think it was quite mediocre and it seemed disappointing considering the virtually unanimous raves the film receives. From what I saw, it came across as nothing more than just another decent Western ... New fans should pursue one of the 2006 releases instead of the old 1997 edition,

137. Vertigo: Alfred Hitchcock Masterpiece Collection (1958)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Vertigo definitely is effective, but something about it simply leaves me flat. Maybe it's because the film wasn't really what I expected. While it has some of those moments, it's not a really thrilling chiller ala Psycho. That's not bad, but even though I'd seen Vertigo years ago, I wasn't quite prepared for the route it would take. Starring James Stewar

138. Malcolm X: Criterion Collection [4K UHD] (1992)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Denzel Washington perfectly captured his character in Malcolm X, and I consider his turn here to be one of the all-time great pieces of movie acting. The rest of Malcolm X seems less strong, but the film nonetheless succeeds more than it sputters. Starring Denzel Washington, Angela Bassett. Criterion, $49.95, 11/22/2022.

140. Vertigo: Special Edition - Universal Legacy Series (1958)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: This marks the third DVD release of Vertigo, and it’s the best. However, it’s not significantly superior to the one that immediately preceded it. Those two offer similar visuals and identical audio, though the new one loses a mono mix. Otherwise, this one differs from its predecessor solely due to a few new extras. While those components have value, they
