12. First Blood [4K UHD] (1982)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Although its sequels made Rambo a household name, I think only the original film stands up after all these years. First Blood has its flaws, but it generally offers a vivid and compelling action flick that also includes more depth than usual. Starring Sylvester Stallone, Richard Crenna. Lionsgate, $22.99, 11/13/2018.

13. Rocky III: Rocky Anthology (1982)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As it stands, Rocky III offered a good climactic fight scene and a nicely brutal performance from Mr. T, but otherwise it seemed mechanical and empty. No signs of the title character’s original charm and warmth existed by this point, and the result was a sequel that connected to the first film in name alone. Starring Sylvester Stallone, Mr. T. MGM, $49.9

14. First Blood [Blu-Ray] (1982)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Although its sequels made Rambo a household name, I think only the original film stands up after all these years. First Blood has its flaws, but it generally offers a vivid and compelling action flick that also includes more depth than usual. The Blu-ray provides positive picture and some interesting supplements but the audio seems thin and lackluster. D

15. Cliffhanger: Collector's Edition (1993)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I don't hate Cliffhanger because it's just too bland to inspire strong emotion. I didn't enjoy it but I was bored more than anything else. Even with all the action, none of it seems thrilling or scary or exciting. If there's anything less interesting than a dull action movie, I have yet to find it. Starring Sylvester Stallone, John Lithgow. Columbia TriS

16. Rocky IV: Rocky Anthology (1985)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Rocky IV is the least substantial of the six movies, but that doesn’t mean it’s the worst of the bunch. Although it was excessively thin and flashy, it provided some moments of general entertainment, and it didn’t do anything to actively bother me. That’s not much of a recommendation, but it’s about all I can muster. Starring Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lu

17. Rambo III [4K UHD] (1988)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Though it was supposed to make a mint, 1988’s Rambo III tanked and killed the franchise – well, at least until Stallone decided to revive it 20 years later. In its own right, Rambo III isn’t that bad, but it certainly doesn’t offer much that seems original or compelling. Starring Sylvester Stallone, Richard Crenna. Lionsgate, $21.99, 11/13/2018.

18. Escape Plan [4K UHD] (2013)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Fans of 1980s action cinema will thrill to the sight of Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger on-screen together, but that novelty exists as the only appealing aspect of Escape Plan. The movie moves slowly and never turns into a satisfying experience. Starring Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger. Lionsgate, $22.99, 6/5/2018.

19. Rocky III: The Undisputed Collection [Blu-Ray] (1982)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Frankly, some cool extras would have made this package much more palatable than it was. As it stands, Rocky III offered a good climactic fight scene and a nicely brutal performance from Mr. T, but otherwise it seemed mechanical and empty. No signs of the title character’s original charm and warmth existed by this point, and the result was a sequel that c

20. Rocky (1976)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Rocky continues to hold up well after 30 years. The movie marks the creative high point of Sylvester Stallone’s career, and it offers a moving and inspirational look at a bum made good. Starring Sylvester Stallone, Talia Shire. MGM, $49.98, 12/5/2006.
