131. The Texas Chain Saw Massacre: 40th Anniversary Edition [Blu-Ray] (1974)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Based on its reputation and my usual preferences within the horror genre, I expected to like The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Unfortunately, I didn’t find much about it that interested me, mostly because it could be cheap and amateurish, and not in a good way. Starring Marilyn Burns, Gunnar Hansen. Dark Sky, $29.99, 9/16/2014.

132. Strange World [Blu-Ray] (2022)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I doubt anyone will call Strange World the worst Disney animated film ever, but it provides a wholly mediocre experience. Even with a slew of action scenes, the movie seems uninspired and oddly dull. Starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Jaboukie Young-White. Disney, $34.99, 2/14/2023.

133. MTV Jackass: Volume 2 & 3 (2002)
Reviewed by David Williams: ...the set comes highly recommended for fans of the show or the individuals featured alike.

134. Adaptation: Superbit (2002)
Reviewed by David Williams: Adaptation is a brilliant exercise that challenges the boring and bland conventions of Hollywood filmmaking and it managed to be an enjoyable romp in the process.

135. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 [4K UHD] (2014)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As the first half of the conclusion to the saga, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 offers a disappointing effort. Slow and largely devoid of drama or excitement, the movie plods and acts as a lackluster lead to the finale. Starring Jennifer Lawrence, Donald Sutherland. Lionsgate, $22.99, 11/8/2016.

136. SWAT: Superbit (2003)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The first release’s supplements were quite good, as the two audio commentaries and other elements added a lot of useful information. None of those appear here, but the DVD improves both picture and audio. If you don’t care about the extras, definitely go with the Superbit release, as it definitely offers the best possible depiction of the film. Starring

137. Friday The 13th, Part 3 [Blu-Ray] (1982)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: If you have the SE DVD, you may want to upgrade to the Blu-ray because its 3D version works better. The visuals remain somewhat off-putting, but I thought they were clearer and less headache inducing. The Blu-ray also includes a few decent extras absent from the DVD. Unfortunately, it still provides the same terrible movie; Blu-ray can’t fix bad filmmaki

138. The Shaggy Dog (2006)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The 2006 version of The Shaggy Dog could have been worse, as a pretty good lead performance from Tim Allen partially redeems it. However, too many negatives occur to elevate the film above the level of generally weak. Starring Tim Allen, Kristin Davis. Disney, $29.99, 8/1/2006.

139. Streets of Fire [Blu-Ray] (1984)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With a “name” director and a cast of solid professionals, Streets of Fire enjoyed the potential to become an exciting action flick. Unfortunately, it suffers from a surfeit of flaws that turn it into a silly, moronic piece of fluff. Starring Michael Pare, Diane Lane. Shout!, $34.93, 5/16/2017.

140. 300 [4k Uhd] (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Possibly 2007’s biggest cinematic disappointment, 300 takes an interesting premise and turns the material into laughable schlock. This becomes a terrible piece of overacted, overwrought and over-dramatic action trash. Starring Gerard Butler, Lena Headey. Warner, $29.99, 10/6/2020.
