241. Alexander: Director's Cut (Special Edition) (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I didn’t see the theatrical cut, so I don’t know if this one improves upon it. Since I didn’t like this version of Alexander, I find it hard to believe it’s significantly superior to the theatrical edition, but who knows? Maybe that one was even more boring than the director’s cut. Starring Colin Farrell, Val Kilmer. Warner, $29.95, 8/2/2005.

242. Twilight (2008)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As one far from the film’s target demographic, I expected little from Twilight. However, it turned out to be a pretty interesting flick, and to my surprise, its weakest parts came from those I thought I’d like the best ... Twilight provides an involving film and a generally positive DVD. Starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson. Summit Entertainment, $

247. Tropic Thunder: Director's Cut (2008)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Due to its clever premise and strong cast, Tropic Thunder ends up as a moderate disappointment; it just doesn’t quite live up to expectations. That said, it still entertains much of the time and deserves a look. The DVD offers generally good picture, surprisingly strong audio, and a terrific roster of supplements. Thunder is too inconsistent to earn an e

248. Brother Bear: Special Edition (2003)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: When compared with Disney’s other animated fare, Brother Bear comes across as firmly ordinary. The movie remains consistently likable and entertaining, but it lacks that spark that would allow it to prosper and turn into something special. Starring Joaquin Phoenix, Jeremy Suarez. Disney, $29.99, 3/30/2004.

I didn’t care for the flick much when I saw it theatrically, but I found it to seem substantially more compelling during my subsequent viewings. The Blu-ray delivers excellent visuals and audio along with two interesting commentaries. I think Clones is a stronger movie than commonly be

250. Modern Family: The Complete Third Season [Blu-Ray] (2011)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: If you enjoyed prior years of Modern Family, I suspect you’ll feel happy with Season Three of the series. While it shows some ups and downs, it usually delivers good comedy. The Blu-ray brings us strong visuals and more than acceptable audio, but other than a bunch of deleted scenes, the supplements disappoint. Still, the Blu-ray gets the most important
