31. Watchmen: Director's Cut [Blu-Ray] (2009)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Ambitious and epic, Watchmen doesn’t always fire on all cylinders. However, it more completely captures the spirit and scope of the source comic than one could realistically expect, and it turns into an engaging movie. The Blu-ray provides excellent picture and audio as well as some good extras highlighted by a useful interactive mode. If you like Watchm

32. Almost Famous [4K UHD] (2000)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Almost Famous became one of the sweetest and more ingratiating films of 2000, and it possesses a particular resonance for those of us with a heavy interest in rock music. What could have been little more than a coming of age story dressed up in classic rock clothes, Famous instead offered a light and lovely tale that earned honest emotion without any si

33. Insidious [Blu-Ray] (2010)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Insidious wears its influences on its sleeve and entertains for the first half, but it loses its way as it goes. The movie still has good moments but it lacks much impact during its second half. The Blu-ray provides positive picture and audio along with a minor set of supplements. We find an occasionally effective but spotty horror flick here. Starring P

34. The Phantom Of The Opera (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Slow, tiresome and tedious, I can’t find anything entertaining in The Phantom of the Opera. I suppose its theatrical melodrama plays better on stage, but on a movie screen, it fails to do anything to distinguish itself. The perfectly dreadful score and songs make things even less tolerable, as the music of Phantom is unmemorable at best and unlistenable

35. Freedom Writers (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Well-intentioned but trite, Freedom Writers gives us a very predictable inspirational tale. The film’s disjointed structure doesn’t help, as the movie tries to combine a few different disparate tales all into one. It fails ... This is a fairly positive release for a flick that doesn’t manage to stand out within its genre. Starring Hilary Swank, Patrick D

36. The A-Team [Blu-Ray] (2010)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: If you watch the theatrical cut of The A-Team, you’ll find a loud, incoherent action flick. If you view the extended edition… well, it’s still pretty loud, but it’s substantially more coherent, and the extra clarity turns it into a considerably more enjoyable romp. The Blu-ray presents good picture, excellent audio and a nice collection of supplements. A

37. Night At The Museum: Special Edition (2006)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Fans can buy Museum in two flavors: this two-disc Special Edition and a single DVD version. The latter offers this package’s first disc on its own. The SE retails for $5 more than the simpler set, and I think it’s worth it. If you don’t care about supplements, don’t bother, but if they interest you, drop a few extra bucks and enjoy all the nice materials

38. Diamonds Are Forever [Blu-Ray] (1971)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Diamonds Are Forever isn't top-notch Bond, but it's a decent effort that merits a viewing. Its lead’s apparent lack of interest makes it drag somewhat, though. Starring Sean Connery, Jill St. John. MGM, $19.98, 9/15/2015.

39. The Living Daylights [Blu-Ray] (1987)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Timothy Dalton didn't last long as Bond, but his two films stand among the best of the series. The Living Daylights isn't quite as good as follow-up Licence to Kill, but it's a very solid effort that provides a gritty, exciting story. Starring Timothy Dalton, Maryam d'Abo. MGM, $14.98, 9/15/2015.
