11. Alice In Wonderland [Blu-Ray] (2010)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Mass audiences really took to Alice in Wonderland and made it a huge box office success. I can’t quite figure out why, however, as I think the new adaptation lacks much entertainment value or charm. The Blu-ray provides very good picture and audio as well as a small but generally interesting set of supplements. The absence of a deep roster of bonus mater

12. Batman Returns [4K UHD] (1992)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: After 27 years, I continue to love Batman Returns. I think it’s definitely the best of the pre-Christopher Nolan series, and it’s still one of my favorites. Starring Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito. Warner, $41.99, 6/4/2019.

13. Batman Returns [Blu-Ray] (1992)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: After 18 years, I continue to love Batman Returns. I think it’s definitely the best of the pre-Christopher Nolan series, and it’s still one of my favorites. The Blu-ray adds excellent picture and audio along with some pretty interesting extras. Even though the 2005 DVD was very satisfying, the Blu-ray improved visual quality enough to make it a worthwhil

14. Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf?: Special Edition (1966)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Cold and cynical, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? isn’t a film to watch when you’re depressed. Actually, maybe it is - you might feel better about your life when you see how miserable its characters are. The film provides an intense and satisfying glimpse of its personalities. Starring Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton. Warner, $26.98, 12/5/2006.

15. Batman Returns: Special Edition (1992)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As was the case with the special edition for the first film, this recommendation is easy. Whether or not you have the prior DVD, you should pick up the special edition version. It offers improved visuals and a nice set of extras to become a fine upgrade. Starring Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito. Warner, $26.99, 10/18/2005.

16. Charlie And The Chocolate Factory: Deluxe Edition (2005)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Long on visual razzle-dazzle but short in most other areas, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory offers a flawed adaptation of a classic work. The movie has its moments but doesn’t compare favorably with its cinematic predecessor. Starring Johnny Depp, Freddie Highmore. Warner, $30.97, 11/8/2005.

17. Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street [4K UHD] (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: An unusually bloody and gloomy musical, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street does not offer a cheerful night at the movies. The film adaptation of the production creates a dark and involving piece. Starring Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter. Paramount, $25.99, 9/3/2024.

18. Corpse Bride (2005)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Maybe I’ll eventually warm up to Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride, but I must admit it leaves me cold after one screening. The movie boasts fine production values and spots of cleverness, but it lacks enough spirit and warmth to make it truly engaging. Starring Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter. Warner, $28.98, 1/31/2006.

20. Cleopatra: 50th Anniversary Edition [Blu-Ray] (1963)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Cleopatra provides a surprisingly entertaining and compelling package. The movie drags at times and definitely shows some flaws, but its grandeur and scope ultimately make it interesting. The Blu-ray provides excellent visuals, very good audio and a strong set of bonus materials. Chalk this up as a fairly enjoyable film and a terrific Blu-ray. Starring E
