- 31. Enchanted (2007)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Enchanted offers an entertaining and fairly charming fable, even if it doesn’t always feel particularly original. The movie probably runs a little long, but it still manages to keep us amused and involved most of the time ... There’s enough fun to be had here to earn my recommendation. Starring Amy Adams, James Marsden. Disney, $29.99, 3/18/2008.

- 32. Alfie (2004)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Rather than offer an interesting personality study, Alfie prefers to provide little more than a standard chick flick. It takes a lively and intriguing character and turns him into a wuss, all in the interest of “growth”. Bah - the movie just panders to a certain segment of the audience with its dull exposition. Starring Jude Law, Jane Krakowski. Paramoun

- 33. Bad Moms Christmas [Blu-Ray] (2017)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Little more than a rehash of the first film, A Bad Moms Christmas lacks inspiration. Due to a good cast, it musters an occasional laugh, but most of it feels stale and predictable. Starring Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell. Universal, $34.98, 2/6/2018.

- 34. The Celluloid Closet [4K UHD] (1995)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As an exploration of homosexuality in cinema, The Celluloid Closet seems moderately engaging. However, it simply lacks the running time to cover the subject matter well, so it feels fairly superficial. Starring Lily Tomlin, Harvey Fierstein. Sony, $299.99, 11/22/2022.

- 35. Elizabethtown: Special Collector's Edition (2005)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: One of the most absurd movies I’ve seen in some time, Elizabethtown comes as a major disappointment. I always root for Cameron Crowe, but this stinker flops in almost every way. It borders on parody much of the time and never remotely embraces any believable emotion. Starring Orlando Bloom, Kirsten Dunst. Paramount, $29.95, 2/7/2006.

- 36. The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Although I’m not quite sure it qualifies as a holiday classic, Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas holds up well after 15 years. It creates a fun, inventive tale that consistently entertains ... While I like the movie a lot, this release doesn’t do it real justice. Starring Danny Elfman, Chris Sarandon. Buena Vista, $29.99, 12/2/1997.

- 37. Robot & Frank (2012)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: When I went into Robot & Frank, I feared that it’d degenerate into a maudlin vision of elderly dementia. Happily, it avoids those trappings to deliver a warm, gently amusing character piece. The DVD comes with acceptable picture and audio as well as an enjoyable commentary. Plop this one in the “recommended” file. Starring Frank Langella, James Marsden.

- 40. Cats & Dogs [Blu-Ray] (2001)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Cats & Dogs reached a decent audience in the summer of 2001 with its special effects trickery and modestly amusing James Bond spoofery. Parts of the movie entertained me, mostly thanks to a terrific vocal performance by Sean Hayes, but the film as a whole seemed less than scintillating. The Blu-ray provides very good audio and some supplements highlighte
