11. Top Gun: I Love The 80's Edition (1986)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Obviously any fans who already own the 2004 two-disc SE have no reason to buy this one since it simply repackages the earlier set’s first DVD. Top Gun buffs who don’t have the 2004 release should skip this one and get that package instead. Not only does it include an extra disc of supplements, but also it retails for less money! The 2004 SE lists for $12

12. Alien: Alien Anthology [Blu-Ray] (1979)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Alien is a killer. The movie earned its status as an innovative classic, and despite some slow spots, it holds up well after all these years. The Blu-ray presents excellent picture with dated but generally positive audio and some interesting supplements, though most of those will be reviewed elsewhere/later. In terms of basic movie presentation, Alien ha

13. The Alien Saga (2001)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As a die-hard fan of the movie series, I enjoyed The Alien Saga. To varying degrees, the program skimped on information about the various sequels, but it nonetheless offered a good synopsis of the series. Narrated by John Hurt. Image Entertainment, $19.99, 10/14/2003.

14. Whiteout [Blu-Ray] (2009)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite an intriguing setting, Whiteout lacks much inspiration. It provides a simple, forgettable thriller that fails to develop into anything memorable or exciting. The Blu-ray offers very good picture and audio but it fails to deliver many supplements. I’d skip this tiresome “adventure”. Starring Kate Beckinsale, Gabriel Macht. Warner, $35.99, 1/19/201

15. Tears of the Sun (2003)
Reviewed by David Williams: While the film has a worthwhile message, Tears of the Sun ultimately fails because it can’t decide whether or not it wants to be an action film or a humanitarian one.

16. Ted [Blu-Ray] (2012)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Ted comes with a fun premise but inconsistent execution. It mixes clever gags with cheap jokes to offer a tremendously up and down comedic experience. The Blu-ray provides generally good picture and audio along with a fairly useful batch of bonus materials. Ted will probably delight Seth MacFarlane fans but it seems less likely to win over new converts.

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite an intriguing setting, Whiteout lacks much inspiration. It provides a simple, forgettable thriller that fails to develop into anything memorable or exciting. 19. The Dead Zone [Blu-Ray] (1983)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: After so many decades of crummy movies based on Stephen King stories, it becomes easy to forget that strong films like The Dead Zone exist. Dark, deliberate and unnerving, the flick offers a solid supernatural thriller. Starring Christopher Walken, Brooke Adams. Paramount, $36.99, 9/15/2020.
