2. Some Like It Hot [Blu-Ray] (1959)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As a movie, Some Like It Hot has endured quite well over the years. While I can’t endorse the AFI’s decision that it’s the funniest film ever made, I still thought it was witty and well-made as a whole. The Blu-ray offers acceptable but erratic picture and audio along with a nice mix of supplements. The Blu-ray gives us the flick’s best home video reputa

3. Some Like It Hot: Collector's Edition (1959)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I definitely recommend this fun movie, and for those who don’t already own the prior release, the 2006 “Collector’s Edition” is definitely the way to go. I also think it’s worth the upgrade for fans who possess the earlier version. The new supplements aren’t dazzlers, but they’re interesting, and the improved transfer makes this a worthwhile purchase. Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As a movie, Some Like It Hot has endured quite well over the years. While I can’t endorse the AFI’s decision that it’s the funniest film ever made, I still thought it was witty and well-made as a whole. Starring Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon. 5. Spartacus [Blu-Ray] (1960)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: (C)oncerns make it very tough for me to recommend this Blu-ray to fans. No, Spartacus didn’t look awful, but it gave us a transfer far inferior to what we should have received. Until/unless Universal fixes this disappointing presentation, fans should just stick with their DVDs, especially if they already own the Criterion edition from 2001. Starring Kir

6. The Manitou [Blu-Ray] (1978)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: If anyone hopes to find a lost horror classic via 1978’s The Manitou, forget about it. The movie comes with some familiar faces but the ridiculous story and overly self-serious presentation make it a ludicrous dud. Starring Tony Curtis, Michael Ansara. Shout!, $29.99, 4/16/2019.

8. The Celluloid Closet [4K UHD] (1995)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As an exploration of homosexuality in cinema, The Celluloid Closet seems moderately engaging. However, it simply lacks the running time to cover the subject matter well, so it feels fairly superficial. Starring Lily Tomlin, Harvey Fierstein. Sony, $299.99, 11/22/2022.

9. Spartacus (Restored Edition) [Blu-Ray] (1960)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As a film, Spartacus seems erratic and occasionally wearying, but it offers quite a few solid moments, most of which came due to some terrific supporting performances from the film’s antagonists. The movie also picks up as it progressed, and much of its most satisfying material takes place during its final act. Starring Kirk Douglas, Laurence Olivier.

10. The Great Race (1965)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The movie ran far too long, and it contained too little real humor.
