21. Shadow Of A Doubt (1943)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Apparently Alfred Hitchcock found Shadow of a Doubt to be his favorite of all the flicks he directed. I don’t think quite so highly of it, but I like it nonetheless. A quiet, brooding piece, it becomes a real winner ... While there’s nothing extraordinary about this DVD, the film itself is a winner. Directed by Alfred Hitchcock. Universal, $19.98, 2/6/20

22. Marnie: Alfred Hitchcock Masterpiece Collection (1964)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Hitchcock does little to make the story more exciting. A few scenes appear especially well-staged ... but most use such obvious and overbearing symbolism that they seem more like imitation Hitchcock than the real thing. Despite all these criticisms, I still found Marnie to be watchable and mildly entertaining, but it clearly pales in comparison with Hitc

23. Rebecca [Blu-Ray] (1940)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While Rebecca may never be one of my favorite Hitchcock flicks, it nonetheless holds up much better than the vast majority of movies from the 1940s (or 1930s or 1950s or 1960s... oh, you get my point). It remains a compelling and haunting experience. The Blu-ray provides very good picture, audio and supplements. This turns into a fine release for a high

24. Rear Window: Special Edition - Universal Legacy Series (1954)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: This marks the third DVD release of Rear Window, and it’s the best. However, it’s not significantly superior to those that preceded it. I think all three offer virtually identical picture and audio; this one differs from its predecessors solely due to a few new extras. While those components have value, they’re not enough to make the set worth a “double

25. Family Plot [4K UHD] (1976)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A great career came to an end with Family Plot, the final film from Alfred Hitchcock. While he did not go out on top, he did end things with a pretty good effort, as Plot became arguably his best flick since The Birds. Starring Bruce Dern, Barbara Harris. Universal, $29.98, 5/10/2022.

26. Shadow Of A Doubt [4K UHD] (1943)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Apparently Alfred Hitchcock found Shadow of a Doubt to be his favorite of all the flicks he directed. I do not think quite so highly of it, but I like it nonetheless. A quiet, brooding piece, it becomes a real winner. Starring Joseph Cotten, Teresa Wright. Universal, $29.98, 5/10/2022.

27. Rear Window [4K UHD] (1954)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: 1954’s Rear Window stands with the best of Alfred Hitchcock’s material. The film moves at a slow but compelling pace and uses simple methods to ensnare the viewer. Starring James Stewart, Grace Kelly. Universal, $29.98, 9/7/2021.

28. Topaz (1969)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As Alfred Hitchcock’s career wound to an end, he manages a moderately interesting spy thriller via Topaz. Though the movie seems fairly generic for one of Hitch’s works, at least it creates a reasonably enjoyable tale. The DVD offers average picture and sound along with a pretty good collection of supplements. Topaz is average Hitchcock, but that’s enou

29. Strangers On A Train [Blu-Ray] (1951)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Strangers on a Train comes blessed with a splendid concept but cursed – or at least mildly harmed – by a dull lead actor. Despite that weakness, however, the movie offers enough suspense and intrigue to remain consistently compelling. The Blu-ray gives us impressive picture quality along with adequate audio and a good selection of supplements. I like thi

30. Torn Curtain (1966)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A younger Alfred Hitchcock might not have been able to knock a flawed tale like Torn Curtain out of the park, but I’m sure he could’ve done something with it. Unfortunately, the aging Hitch failed to bring anything special to this dull, plodding flick. The DVD offers perfectly acceptable audio and some interesting extras, but picture quality disappoints.
