11. Superman: The Motion Picture Anthology (1978-2006) [Blu-Ray] (1978)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Superman doesn’t qualify among my favorite comic book adaptations, as I prefer the Batman and Spider-Man movies. Nonetheless, it holds up well after more than 30 years and remains a class act. The Blu-ray provides excellent audio and supplements but suffers from inconsistent visuals. The image issues can frustrate at times, but this remains a very nice r

12. Heroes Of Iwo Jima: Flags Of Our Fathers / Letters From Iwo Jima Commemorative Edition (2001)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Undoubtedly Clint Eastwood’s two related films have piqued interest in the subject, and Heroes of Iwo Jima gives us a nice examination of the battle and its impact. The program includes many good tales and facts as it packs an emotional punch ... This is an excellent documentary. Narrated by Gene Hackman. Warner, $49.96, 5/22/2007.

14. Get Shorty: Collector's Edition [Blu-Ray] (1995)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Though Get Shorty often becomes funny and entertaining, it doesn’t quite live up to its potential. While it enjoys strong source material as well as good performances, it fails to deliver the zest and pizzazz it needs to thrive. Starring John Travolta, Gene Hackman. Shout, $34.93, 10/23/2018.

15. Welcome To Mooseport (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Welcome to Mooseport enjoyed a fun concept and a good cast. Unfortunately, it failed to explore the ideas well or appropriately utilize the performers, and it comes across as a decidedly lackluster flick. Starring Gene Hackman, Ray Romano. Fox, $27.98, 5/25/2004.

17. Enemy Of The State: Unrated Extended Edition (1998)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: If you’ve not given Enemy a look, I’d advise you to screen it. Fans who don’t own the prior DVD will definitely want to skip it and pick up this superior release. As for folks who do have the old version, they’ll probably want to upgrade. This one adds some minor extras and presents improved picture quality. It’s a step up from the old one. Starring Will

18. Crimson Tide: Unrated Extended Edition (1995)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The extended version of the film also doesn’t make much of an impression, as it neither improves nor harms the tale. Still, this release acts as a nice step-up from the old DVD, mainly due to the improved anamorphic transfer. Both fans new to Tide and those who already own the original release should pick up this re-release. Starring Denzel Washington, G

19. Unforgiven [Blu-Ray] (1992)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As a film, Unforgiven has some merits and offers a generally strong piece of work. The movie gives us a somewhat forced but moderately thoughtful treatise on violence; it doesn’t totally achieve its goals, but it works fairly well overall. The Blu-ray provides generally good picture and sound as well as a pretty solid collection of extras. The disc could

20. Superman II (1980)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite the variety of concerns found during Superman II, I still think it’s a very solid piece of entertainment. Yes, it’s disjointed and erratic, but it also provides some solid action pieces and possesses an emotional resonance unusual for this sort of film. It’s a step below the original film, but it’s a small step. Starring Gene Hackman, Christopher
