11. Terminator 2: Judgment Day - Skynet Edition [Blu-Ray] (1991)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: One of the all-time great action flicks, Terminator 2: Judgment Day remains very entertaining and exciting after 26 years. The movie doesn’t qualify as my favorite in the genre, but it’s quite close to the top. Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton. Lionsgate, $9.99, 5/19/2009.

12. Ghosts Of The Abyss (2003)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Although much too late to capitalize on the mania that surrounded Titanic, Ghosts of the Abyss provides a competent examination of the wreck. It includes sporadically intriguing shots but doesn’t add much to what we’ve seen previously, and it suffers from the translation to the small screen from the IMAX theaters. Directed by James Cameron. Buena Vista,

13. The Terminator: Special Edition (1984)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson Title: The Terminator: Special Edition (1984) Studio Line: MGM - The thing that won't die, in the nightmare that won't end. In this “blazing, cinematic comic book” (Variety), Arnold Schwarzenegger is “perfectly cast” (Los...

14. Aliens: 30th Anniversary Edition [Blu-Ray] (1986)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: For some time now, I’ve regarded Aliens as my favorite film. A virtually flawless action flick, it provides a tremendous thrill ride bolstered by unusually strong story telling and acting. Starring Sigourney Weaver, Michael Biehn. Fox, $24.99, 9/13/2016.

15. Aliens: Special Edition (1986)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Fox have done a very good job of bringing Aliens to DVD. While it lacks a few of the supplements from the LD set, it includes a very substantial percentage of them and it blows away that production in terms of both image and audio. Both show some problems but seem the best we’ve seen and heard to date, and the mix of nice extras fill out the set fairly w

16. Titanic: 10th Anniversary Edition (1997)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: (I)f you already own the 2005 SCE, there’s absolutely no reason to pursue the 10th Anniversary release. If you don’t have the 2005 set, I’d recommend you get it. The only circumstance under which I think a purchase of the 10th Anniversary package makes sense would be if you can get it cheaper than the SCE and also don’t really care about extras. For me,

17. Alien Anthology: Bonus Material [Blu-Ray] (2010)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: ... I remain happy with the “Anthology”. It includes some of my all-time favorite movies and brings them to Blu-ray in generally good style. It’s certainly a dream for folks who want to know more about the series’ creation, as it comes packed with more supplements than I’d have dreamed possible. All of this makes me pretty pleased with this massive set.

18. The Terminator [Blu-Ray] (1984)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As for the Blu-ray, picture quality has some issues but usually looks good. The disc also provides an effective 5.1 remix; unfortunately, it drops the original monaural track that appeared on the 2001 DVD, and it also loses many of that release’s extras ... These alterations keep the Terminator Blu-ray from being as satisfying as it should be. Even with

19. The Terminator (Remastered) [Blu-Ray] (1984)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As for the Blu-ray, it objectively looks/sounds very good but it comes with compromises. The image comes with a new teal overlay and the audio only includes the 5.1 remix; we don’t get the original mono track, which I believe has remained MIA on Blu-ray. Extras remain good, though we’re still missing some components from the 2001 DVD. This 2013 Blu-ray i

20. The Terminator [Blu-Ray Book] (1984)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: If you want a Blu-ray of Terminator, I’d steer you toward the 2006 version. It’s the same disc that you get here and retails for $15 less than this one. I like the new book, but it’s not worth an additional $15, so stick with the book-free edition. Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton. MGM, $34.98, 5/10/2011.
