Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Help! hasn't aged quite as well as A Hard Day's Night, but it still offers some solid entertainment for Beatles fans. For all of its faults, it remains a fun film that gives us a not-so-candid look at a great band in their prime. The Blu-ray offered very good audio along with erratic visuals and decent bonus materials. This is the best Help! has looked o

- 13. Backbeat [Blu-Ray] (1993)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A major disappointment, Backbeat fails to bring the story of the early Beatles to life. It features simplistic characters and a focus on cheap emotion that take it into the category of bland melodrama. Starring Stephen Dorff, Ian Hart. Shout, $22.97, 2/19/2019.

- 14. Paul McCartney Really Is Dead: The Last Testament Of George Harrison (2010)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Does Paul McCartney Really Is Dead attempt to seriously investigate the “Paul is Dead” hoax or does it just want to poke fun at that theory? I have to lean toward the latter, but the clumsy, idiotic program doesn’t succeed in that way or any other; it’s relentlessly stupid and absurd. The DVD comes with flawed visuals, decent audio and minor supplements.

- 16. The Beatles: Yellow Submarine - 2012 Re-Issue (1968)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Would anyone care about Yellow Submarine without its connection to the Beatles? Probably not. While it’s not a bad animated flick, it’s not a particularly good one, either; the music and the Fabs’ mystique makes this one more memorable than it otherwise would be. The DVD boasts excellent picture and audio along with a decent set of supplements that disap

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The Blu-ray provides positive picture and sound as well as an excellent collection of supplements. While Gump will never be one of my favorite films, it remains entertaining, and this Blu-ray works really well. It’s an easy recommendation as an upgrade for folks who already own the DVD.
