21. City of Lies [Blu-Ray] (2018)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Based on one of the most famous murders of the last 30 years, City of Lies comes with a potentially compelling story. Unfortunately, the film lacks the depth and impact it needs to flesh out the subject matter in an appropriate manner. Starring Johnny Depp, Forest Whitaker. Lionsgate, $21.99, 6/8/2021.

22. Sherlock Gnomes [Blu-Ray] (2018)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: To be sure, Sherlock Gnomes could work a lot worse than it does, but that doesn’t make it an actual good movie. It offers 86 watchable minutes of animated fluff that never threatens to become better than mediocre. Starring Johnny Depp, Emily Blunt. Paramount, $34.99, 6/12/2018.

23. The Rum Diary [Blu-Ray] (2011)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Based on a “long lost” novel from Hunter S.Thompson, The Rum Diary seems unlikely to dazzle the author’s fans. Actually, I’m not sure what audience will dive into this film, as it’s too thin to really succeed; while it can be moderately entertaining, it just never goes anywhere and it lacks the energy to give us a fun ride. The Blu-ray delivers good pict

24. Donnie Brasco: Extended Cut [Blu-Ray] (1997)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Donnie Brasco won't go down as one of the great Mafia-oriented films, as that's a crowded field and it simply lacks the consistent power to qualify it for such honors. However, it's a consistently solid and interesting movie that concentrates on a side of "the life" rarely seen in such programs. Starring Al Pacino, Johnny Depp. Sony, $9.98, 5/8/2007.

25. Corpse Bride [Blu-Ray] (2005)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Maybe I’ll eventually warm up to Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride, but I must admit it leaves me cold after one screening. The movie boasts fine production values and spots of cleverness, but it lacks enough spirit and warmth to make it truly engaging. Starring Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter. Warner, $14.97, 9/26/2006.

26. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales [Blu-Ray] (2017)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The fifth – and to date final – entry in the series, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales becomes a lackluster adventure. It brings nothing new to the table and fails to find a groove. Starring Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush. Disney, $19.99, 10/3/2017.

27. Finding Neverland [Blu-Ray] (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Although Finding Neverland occasionally fires on most cylinders, it falters too much of the time to become a generally fulfilling film. Honestly, parts of it go into TV movie territory due to various obstacles that occur. The ending works, but the rest of it stutters. Starring Johnny Depp, Kate Winslet. Miramax, $9.99, 3/20/2007.

28. Once Upon A Time In Mexico [Blu-Ray] (2003)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A fairly slapdash affair, Once Upon a Time In Mexico includes some sporadically entertaining and clever bits. However, as a whole the film seems too erratic and patched together to ever become something generally winning. The Blu-ray provides excellent visuals, very good sound, and a generally positive collection of supplements. I’m not wild about the

29. Ed Wood [Blu-Ray] (1994)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: For years, I believed Ed Wood was one of Tim Burton’s lesser works. I was wrong, as the movie turns out to be genuinely terrific. Sweet, funny, quirky and moving, it’s an excellent piece of work. The Blu-ray presents solid picture and audio along with a nice set of supplements. The Blu-ray does justice to a fine film. Starring Johnny Depp, Martin Landau.

30. Dark Shadows [Blu-Ray] (2012)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With an aimless narrative and an inconsistent tone, Dark Shadows lacks much to make it entertaining. It does boast a nice cast but the movie doesn’t know where it wants to go, so it takes the audience on a meandering ride. The Blu-ray delivers good picture and audio along with a small set of useful supplements. While I have no complaints about this Blu-r
