11. The Thing: Collector's Edition [Blu-Ray] (1982)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Although it bombed critically and commercially in the summer of 1982, The Thing became a minor classic of the science fiction genre. Its delicious melding of sci-fi creatures with 1950s-era paranoiac drama create a film that remains wonderfully tense and unusual. Starring Kurt Russell, Wilford Brimley. Shout!, $34.93, 10/11/2016.

12. Big Trouble In Little China [Blu-Ray] (1986)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: If you want good fantasy-related action/adventure, stick with Indiana Jones. Big Trouble in Little China aspires to fill the same territory but it never becomes anything memorable. Oddly anonymous, its 100 minutes pass without pain but also without any real excitement or drama. The Blu-ray offers pretty good picture and audio as well as a nice collection

13. Escape From New York: Special Edition (1981)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I donít like Escape enough to recommend it sight unseen, but fans of John Carpenterís other flicks will want to give it a look. As for those who already own the old DVD, this one merits an upgrade, so itíd make sense to replace the prior release. This special edition is definitely the one for those who possess no Escape to get. Written and Directed by Jo

14. Bone Tomahawk [Blu-Ray] (2015)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Thanks to a strong cast, Bone Tomahawk becomes a more than watchable Western. However, it tends to feel a little too infatuated with its own sense of genre disruption and too interested in fluid storytelling. Starring Kurt Russell, Patrick Wilson. RLJ Entertainment, $29.97, 12/28/2015.

18. Backdraft [Blu-Ray] (1991)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With 1991ís Backdraft, we get yet another Ron Howard movie neutered by the directorís relentless mediocrity. Like most of his flicks, Backdraft maintains a stalwart sense of professionalism but it fails to ever become anything more involving. Starring Kurt Russell, William Baldwin. Universal, $14.98, 1/4/2011.

19. Tombstone [Blu-Ray] (1993)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While it certainly enjoys a mix of strengths, I find myself slightly disenchanted with Tombstone. Actually, ďdisenchantedĒ probably isnít the right word, for thereís little here I can say I dislike. I simply donít think the film leaves a strong impression; it gives us a good Western but not one that stands out as a classic. The Blu-ray provides very posi

20. Poseidon [Blu-Ray] (2006)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A thin disaster flick too concerned with effects to involve us, Poseidon comes as a real disappointment. Despite its solid production values, the movie never creates any drama or tension, mostly because we simply couldnít care less what happens to the sketchy characters. Starring Kurt Russell, Josh Lucas, Richard Dreyfuss. Warner, $14.98, 4/6/2008.
