21. Armored [Blu-Ray] (2009)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Although I didn’t expect Armored to reinvent any action wheels, I hoped it’d be a lively caper flick. Unfortunately, it lacks creativity and seems too “by the numbers” to become anything exciting and memorable. The Blu-ray boasts excellent visuals as well as good audio and some generally forgettable supplements. I can’t say that I dislike Armored, but I

22. 21: Deluxe Edition (2008)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: At no point should you expect 21 to dazzle you with originality or intelligence. However, it maintains a high entertainment factor that makes it enjoyable in spite of its flaws ... This turns out to be a fine release for a pretty good movie. Starring Kevin Spacey, Kate Bosworth. Sony, $34.95, 7/22/2008.

23. Boyz 'N The Hood [Blu-Ray] (1991)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Undeniably influential and important, Boyz N the Hood runs into problems when viewed strictly as a movie. It occasionally presents some insights and quality moments, but these become submerged by cheap melodrama and awkward sermonizing. The Blu-ray provides positive picture, audio and supplements. This becomes a strong presentation for a spotty film. Wri

24. School Daze [Blu-Ray] (1988)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: After the rousing success of his first film, Spike Lee went through his sophomore slump with School Daze. However, despite a number of flaws, the movie has enough going for it to merit a viewing, as it becomes inconsistent but provocative. Starring Laurence Fishburne, Spike Lee. Sony, $14.99, 11/13/2018.

26. Mystic River [Blu-Ray] (2003)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Many thought Mystic River deserved to win the Best Picture Oscar for 2003. I didn’t, but I nonetheless found a lot to admire about this well-executed movie. It depicts a complex character tale adeptly and benefits from restrained storytelling and excellent acting. The Blu-ray presents strong picture quality plus more than adequate audio and an erratic bu

29. The Matrix Revolutions (2003)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The Matrix Revolutions finishes a once-exciting series on a moderately flat note. I can’t call it a bad film, as it presents far too much good action and excitement to flop. Unfortunately, it lacks the humanity and depth that helped make the first movie such a success. Starring Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss. Warner, $29.95, 4/6/2004.

30. Apocalypse Now [Blu-Ray] (1979)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Without question, I recommend Apocalypse Now to all movie fans. Despite my continued disdain for the third act, it deserves its status as a classic. The Blu-ray provides excellent audio and supplements; picture disappoints a little, but the movie still looks quite good. This ends up as easily the best home video representation of the film to date. Starri
