11. Ferris Bueller's Day Off: Bueller Bueller Edition [Blu-Ray] (1986)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Although I expected the Blu-ray of Ferris to offer only marginal improvements over the prior DVD, I thought it actually worked quite a lot better. The movie provided visuals that outdid what I figured Iíd get from a mid-80s effort and made the earlier release seem soft and drab. I think Ferris fans will be pleased with the Blu-ray. Starring Matthew Brode

12. Godzilla (1998)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: It provided enough excitement and mindless destruction to keep me entertained.

13. The Lion King: Signature Collection [Blu-Ray] (1994)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I probably wouldnít claim that The Lion King is my all-time favorite Disney animated film, but it resides very high on that list. Starring Matthew Broderick, Jeremy Irons. Disney, $39.99, 8/29/2017.

14. Ferris Bueller's Day Off: 35th Anniversary Edition [Blu-Ray] (1986)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Perhaps the fact Iím not wild about Ferris Buellerís Day Off makes me a traitor to my generation, and the film certainly has maintained a big audience over the last 35 years. I just never really enjoyed it, as I find it to provide sporadic entertainment and not much more. Starring Matthew Broderick, Alan Ruck. Paramount, $17.99, 6/8/2021.

15. Rules Don't Apply [Blu-Ray] (2016)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: After a long layoff, Warren Beatty comes back to filmmaking with a thud. Though ambitious, Rules Donít Apply fails to create an effective, coherent narrative. Starring Alden Ehrenreich, Lily Collins. Fox, $39.99, 2/28/2017.

16. Godzilla [Blu-Ray 4K] (1998)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite all of the criticisms leveled toward it, I continue to enjoy Godzilla. Yeah, it presents some weak characters/performances and occasionally approaches a level of incoherence, but the many wild action scenes compensate for these flaws. Starring Matthew Broderick, Jean Reno. Columbia TriStar, $19.96, 7/16/2013.

17. War Games (1983)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: One might expect a silly, quaint period piece from 1983ís WarGames, but I think it usually manages to transcend its age. With a clever premise and some nice performances, the movie holds up well ... I like the film, but the picture quality makes it a lackluster release. Starring Matthew Broderick, Dabney Coleman. MGM, $14.98, 4/22/1998.

18. Election (1999)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A barbed look at high school politics, Election provides an amusing and tart affair. Complete with good performances and clever situations, it provides an entertaining ride. The DVD offers lackluster visuals as well as decent audio and a pretty good audio commentary. Election is a rich film that will probably hold up nicely to repeated viewings. Starring

19. Ferris Bueller's Day Off: I Love The 80's Edition (1986)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: For Ferris fans, the question becomes which DVD to purchase. Both this 2008 version Ė which essentially duplicates the original 1999 disc Ė and the 2006 special edition provide picture and audio I think seem virtually identical, and they sport similar prices. That leaves the extras as the deciding factor. The 2006 SE includes more components, but I donít

20. The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride (Special Edition) (1998)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Lion King II: Simba's Pride is exactly the kind of film Disney's critics have long accused them of making. It's flat, uninspired and by-the-numbers. While it's perfectly competent and professional, it almost completely lacks any spark and fails to entertain even a big Lion King fan like myself. Starring Matthew Broderick, Neve Campbell. Disney, $29.99, 8
