11. Get The Gringo [Blu-Ray] (2012)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Although it offers sporadic entertainment, Get the Gringo seems too erratic and unfocused to succeed for long. In particular, it becomes more scattered as it goes, so it delivers diminishing returns. The Blu-ray provides very good picture and audio but lacks many supplements. While I wouldn’t call this a bad movie, it’s not one that feels satisfying in t

12. Gallipoli: Special Collector's Edition (1981)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Gallipoli deserves credit for its unusual subject matter and the restrained, low-key manner in which it examines things. However, it doesn’t offer enough narrative to maintain our interest over its 111 minutes, and its lack of depth means we stay at a distance from it. Starring Mel Gibson, Mark Lee. Paramount, $14.98, 12/13/2005.

14. Mad Max [Blu-Ray] (1979)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Though undeniably influential, I didn’t think Mad Max offered a terrific film experience. The flick had its moments, and I could definitely see its impact on later movies, but the flick itself seemed decent but unspectacular as a whole. The Blu-ray provided a very strong picture with acceptable sound and a fair though somewhat drab pile of supplements.

15. Braveheart [4K UHD] (1995)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite my continued bafflement over how Braveheart became an "A"-list title, I acknowledge that it's an entertaining and well-executed movie. The film contains flaws and is far from perfect, but it does a lot right and offers a generally stimulating experience. Starring Mel Gibson, Patrick McGoohan. Paramount, $31.99, 5/15/2018.

16. Ransom: Special Edition (1996)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Although I remembered it as a dud, Ransom actually presents a reasonably exciting and spunky little thriller. It suffers from a mix of modest flaws but seems generally entertaining and engaging. Unfortunately, the DVD simply rehashes an old non-anamorphic transfer that comes riddled with a variety of problems. Starring Mel Gibson, Rene Russo. Buena Vista

17. Signs [Blu-Ray] (2002)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: When I saw Signs theatrically, I found it offered a pleasant surprise in that it seemed more tense and exciting than I expected. Signs held up quite well to an additional viewing, as it continued to present a taut and well-executed tale. Starring Mel Gibson, Joaquin Phoenix. Touchstone, $15.99, 6/3/2008.

18. The Road Warrior [4K UHD] (1981)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Although I cannot say I loved Mad Max, I found it preferable to its often slow, often campy sequel. The Road Warrior ends with a bang but plods on its way to its big finale. Starring Mel Gibson, Bruce Spence. Warner, $33.99, 2/1/2022.

19. Blood Father [Blu-ray] (2016)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As a basic action movie, Blood Father delivers occasional thrills. However, it lacks much substance and fails to coalesce into anything memorable. Starring Mel Gibson, Erin Moriarty. Lionsgate, $24.99, 10/11/2016.

20. Lethal Weapon 4: The Lethal Weapon Collection [Blu-Ray] (1998)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Lethal Weapon 4 provides a slapdash and limp affair that goes nowhere and provides a terrible ending to the series. Ripped out in record time, it shows its quick schedule and feels like the commercial product it is. The Blu-ray delivers excellent visuals and generally good audio along with a few interesting supplements. Although I have no big complaints
