51. Eastbound & Down: The Complete Third Season [Blu-Ray] (2012)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: After a somewhat disappointing second year, Eastbound & Down bounces back with a largely satisfying Season Three. Though we still get some lulls, more than enough of the year succeeds to make this a good batch of shows. The Blu-ray delivers very good picture with generally solid audio and a few interesting supplements. Fans will enjoy the ride that Seaso

52. The Missing: Extended Cut (2003)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: If you liked The Missing and never bought one of the prior releases, grab the original 2-DVD version. If you already have that one, don’t bother to shell out the bucks for the “Extended Cut”. The elongated edition of the film makes it worse, and the only new supplement – Ron Howard’s commentary – isn’t very good. Starring Tommy Lee Jones, Cate Blanchett.

53. Rockthology: Volume 4 (2002)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: This is the kind of set that mostly belongs in the collections of die-hard fans.

54. The Missing: Special Edition (2003)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A slow-paced and largely pointless flick, The Missing goes nowhere. It lacks strong enough characters to overcome its sluggish pace, and the story remains too bland and uneventful to maintain interest. Starring Tommy Lee Jones, Cate Blanchett. Columbia TriStar, $28.95, 2/24/2004.

55. Nixon: Special Edition - Oliver Stone Collection Box Set (1995)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: In Nixon, Oliver Stone showed that he could still surprise me. I expected a vicious attack on the ex-president but instead found a fairly even-handed and moving look at the private man. As with every Stone film, Nixon possesses many flaws, but it remains one of his most consistent and compelling efforts. Starring Anthony Hopkins, Joan Allen. Warner, $63.

56. Nixon: Election Year Edition (1995)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: If you don’t own the prior DVD release of Nixon, this 2008 “Election Year Edition” is the way to go, primarily because it boasts superior picture quality. For fans who already possess the earlier version, I still this the “EEE” merits a look. The flick really does look quite a bit better, and a new documentary adds some value. Starring Anthony Hopkins, J

57. Batman [4K UHD] (1989)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: After 30 years, I continue to love Batman. No, it doesn’t have the same hold over me it maintained when it first appeared, but I continue to be very fond of it. Starring Michael Keaton, Jack Nicholson. Warner, $41.99, 6/4/2019.

58. Batman: Special Edition (1989)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I definitely recommend this new 2-DVD release for all folks with an interest in Batman. It greatly improves upon the picture quality of the old disc, and it adds a surfeit of great supplements. It’s a fine re-release that’s well worth the money. Starring Michael Keaton, Jack Nicholson. Warner, $26.99, 10/18/2005.

59. Batman [Blu-Ray] (1989)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I thought this Blu-ray offered the best home video incarnation of Batman, but I can’t say it blew away the 2005 Special Edition DVD. Oh, it certainly provided superior visuals, as I found myself impressed with all the details I’d not previously noticed in the film. However, audio remained the same, and the supplements were nearly identical; the Blu-ray a

60. 30 Rock: Season 5 (2010)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Season Five probably doesn’t deliver the best of 30 Rock, but it shows that the series continues to be pretty good. Some episodes falter, but we find more wheat than chaff. The DVDs offer perfectly acceptable picture and audio along with a decent set of supplements. 30 Rock fans will want to give this release a look. Starring Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin. Univ
