41. The Muppets [Blu-Ray] (2011)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Many viewed the prospect of The Muppets with trepidation, but fans needn’t have worried. It’s an enormous success, as it delights from beginning to end. The Blu-ray boasts excellent picture and audio as well as a pretty good collection of supplements, though the commentary isn’t as I’d hoped. If 2011 produced a movie more fun than The Muppets, I didn’t f

42. Star Trek: The Next Generation - Season 2 [Blu-Ray] (1989)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Season Two of Star Trek: The Next Generation felt like a nice expansion on Season One. Though the quality of the episodes could be more erratic, I liked the shows as a whole and enjoyed the season. The Blu-ray gave us very good picture and audio along with an informative collection of bonus materials. This becomes a high-quality release. Starring Patrick

43. The Lion King: Signature Collection [Blu-Ray] (1994)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I probably wouldn’t claim that The Lion King is my all-time favorite Disney animated film, but it resides very high on that list. Starring Matthew Broderick, Jeremy Irons. Disney, $39.99, 8/29/2017.

44. Roots [Blu-Ray] (1977)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: We’ll likely never see a TV phenomenon like Roots again. The show took the country by storm and remains the mini-series against which all others must be compared. Starring LeVar Burton, John Amos. Warner, $44.98, 6/7/2016.

45. The Traveling Wilburys Collection (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: We’ll never see a supergroup as packed with talent as the Traveling Wilburys. They only lasted for two albums, but at least both of those releases were pretty solid and entertaining. This set includes both Wilbury albums along with some videos and a fine documentary. With a list price of less than $30, this is a nice little package that definitely earns

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Elton John’s 60th birthday show was one of the best performances I’ve seen in a while, and Elton John: 60 – Live at Madison Square Garden becomes one of the most satisfying concert releases I’ve viewed in recent memory. It takes a memorable event and replicates it well. Starring Elton John. Island/Mercury, $19.95, 10/23/2007.
