1. Trainwreck [Blu-Ray] (2015)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Comedian Amy Schumer leaps to the big screen with Trainwreck, but the results seem inconsistent. While the movie provokes a mix of laughs, it bogs down too much of the time and also suffers from Schumer's lack of dramatic skills. Starring Amy Schumer, Bill Hader. Universal, $34.98, 11/10/2015.

2. Gone Baby Gone [Blu-Ray] (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Slam him as an actor if you’d like, but Ben Affleck shows tons of promise as a filmmaker with his directorial debut. Gone Baby Gone occasionally slips, but it usually provides a rich, involving tale that doesn’t tell the audience what to think. Starring Casey Affleck, Michelle Monaghan. Miramax, $14.99, 2/12/2008.

3. Dear Evan Hansen [Blu-Ray] (2021)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: An adaptation of a massively successful Broadway show, Dear Evan Hansen fails to make a good transition to the movie screen. While some aspects of the film work fine, too much of it falters, with the main issue the use of a much too old actor as the ‘teen’ lead. Starring Ben Platt, Kaitlyn Dever. Universal, $34.98, 12/7/2021.

4. Gone Baby Gone (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Slam him as an actor if you’d like, but Ben Affleck shows tons of promise as a filmmaker with his directorial debut. Gone Baby Gone occasionally slips, but it usually provides a rich, involving tale that doesn’t tell the audience what to think ... This deep, thoughtful flick deserves your attention. Starring Casey Affleck, Michelle Monaghan. Miramax, $29

5. Waiting: Special Edition (2005)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite occasional gags that aptly recreate the experience of restaurant work, most of Waiting… focuses on cheesy toilet humor. There’s a lot of crassness and little actual inspiration ... If you like the movie, this is a good disc, but I can’t recommend it as a blind buy. Starring Ryan Reynolds, Anna Faris. Artisan, $28.98, 2/7/2006.

6. Strange But True [Blu-Ray] (2019)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A limp character drama, Strange But True seems too superficial to succeed. Perhaps the source novel fares better, but the movie lacks impact or coherence. Starring Margaret Qualley, Nick Robinson. Lionsgate, $21.99, 10/22/2019.

7. Win Win [Blu-Ray] (2011)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Inconsistent but occasionally interesting, Win Win gives us a reasonably enjoyable movie. Though it lacks the narrative consistency to make it a strong film, it comes with a good cast and a moderately interesting tale. The Blu-ray provides very good picture, acceptable audio and a small set of supplements. If you like the actors, this looks like a rental

8. Waiting... [Blu-ray] (2005)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite occasional gags that aptly recreate the experience of restaurant work, most of Waiting… focuses on cheesy toilet humor. We find a lot of crassness and little actual inspiration. Starring Ryan Reynolds, Anna Faris. Lionsgate, $9.99, 7/16/2007.

9. Flight 7500 (2016)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As far as supernatural horror goes, Flight 7500 falters at times, but it fares well in other ways. Though the movie can feel derivative, I think it musters enough morbid energy and mystery to remain interesting. Starring Ryan Kwanten, Leslie Bibb. Lionsgate, $19.98, 4/12/2016.

10. The House [Blu-Ray] (2017)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Because I like its leads, I thought The House would provide a fun comedic experience. Unfortunately, they can’t overcome the stupidity and laziness of the script, so the end result lacks real amusement. Starring Will Ferrell, Amy Poehler. Warner, $35.99, 10/10/2017.
