21. Gangster Squad [Blu-Ray] (2012)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With an excellent cast and an interesting premise, Gangster Squad boasted much potential – and it occasionally satisfies. However, it’s an inconsistent film that only sporadically involves the viewer, and it peters out as it goes. The Blu-ray brings up very good picture, audio and supplements. This is a strong release but the movie itself remains spotty.

22. 10 Years [Blu-Ray] (2011)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With a subject to which most of us can relate, 10 Years sets up as a film that could give us an interesting character piece. However, it spreads itself too thin and lacks the substance to make it consistently involving. The Blu-ray delivers very good picture and adequate audio but skimps on supplements. Despite the efforts of a strong cast, this ends up

23. Freedomland (2006)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Although the first half of Freedomland works pretty well, the movie takes a nosedive in its final hour. Dull monologues dominate and it starts to feel like the flick will never end ... Skip this disappointing effort. Starring Samuel L. Jackson, Julianne Moore. Sony Pictures, $28.95, 5/30/2006.

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: One of 2013’s bigger disappointments, The Fifth Estate fails in almost all regards. It boasts terrific potential but suffers from strange filmmaking choices and a story that wanders everyplace other than where it needs to go. The Blu-ray delivers good picture and audio as well as a few informative bonus materials. I can’t endorse this forgettable, superf

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: If you can tolerate the many stretches of logic in Eagle Eye and just go with the flow, you’ll probably enjoy it. The movie hits snags, but it compensates with an intriguing story and plenty of exciting action pieces. Starring Shia LaBeouf, Michelle Monaghan. DreamWorks, $14.98, 12/27/2008.

27. The Adjustment Bureau (2011)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite its action/sci-fi/thriller trappings, The Adjustment Bureau is an old-fashioned love story at heart, and one that works well. It can thank its leads for that, as Matt Damon and Emily Blunt make the outlandish tale succeed. The DVD delivers mediocre picture, decent audio and a reasonably good set of supplements. This isn’t a great release, but the
