- 223. Paul McCartney: The Space Within US (2005)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Someday before I die, I hope to get a Paul McCartney concert DVD that accurately represents the live experience. The Space Within US isn’t that DVD. It has a lot of good music and some solid moments, but it spends too much time with extraneous elements and takes us from the stage too frequently. Starring Paul McCartney. A&E, $24.95, 11/14/2006.

- 224. The Exorcist [Blu-Ray] (1973)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Is The Exorcist the greatest horror film of all-time? Probably. 37 years after its initial release, the movie has lost none of its ability to scare, as it remains nearly timeless. The Blu-ray provides very good picture, mediocre audio, and a stellar set of supplements. My only criticism here comes from the absence of the film’s original monaural soundtra

- 225. Say Anything (1989)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson. A fairly charming and moderately realistic tale that helps distinguish itself from other teen-oriented flicks of the period.

- 226. SWAT: Special Edition (2003)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A generic action flick, SWAT brings virtually nothing new to the genre. Had it at least followed its clichés and predictable material in a satisfying way, I’d have enjoyed it, but it seems dull and never does anything to entice the viewer’s interest. Starring Samuel L. Jackson, Colin Farrell. Columbia, $28.95, 12/30/2003.

- 227. Remember The Titans (2000)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As is usually the case with films from producer Jerry Bruckheimer, Remember the Titans reinvents no wheels and will win no prizes for originality, but in its execution, it proves to be a spirited and energetic look at integration and race relations in the early Seventies. I was put off by some misrepresentations of my home area, but even so, I enjoyed th

- 228. Remember The Titans: Director's Cut (2000)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The DVD provides fairly solid picture and sound with a few decent extras. Unfortunately, it drops the best supplements from the original DVD. Because of that, I recommend fans skip this “Director’s Cut” release and stick with the old DVD. It’s the most satisfying way to watch the movie. Starring Denzel Washington, Will Patton. Disney, $19.99, 3/14/2006.

- 229. Pinocchio: Platinum Edition (70th Anniversary) (1940)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Pinocchio stands as a terrific achievement in animation and a darned entertaining film as well. If it’s not the greatest animated film of all-time, it’s close. The DVD provides excellent picture quality, good audio, and a long roster of interesting supplements. Pinocchio receives fine treatment here, and this is a must-own DVD, one well worth “double-dip

- 230. Waiting: Special Edition (2005)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite occasional gags that aptly recreate the experience of restaurant work, most of Waiting… focuses on cheesy toilet humor. There’s a lot of crassness and little actual inspiration ... If you like the movie, this is a good disc, but I can’t recommend it as a blind buy. Starring Ryan Reynolds, Anna Faris. Artisan, $28.98, 2/7/2006.
