Reviewed by Colin Jacobson Title: Dogma: Special Edition (1999) Studio Line: Columbia TriStar - Faith Is A Funny Thing. In this hilarious comic fantasy from writer/director Kevin Smith (Clerks, Chasing Amy), two banished angels find a loophole that...

92. Jimi Hendrix Experience: Electric Ladyland - Deluxe Edition [Blu-ray] (1968)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: 50 years after its release, the Jimi Hendrix Experience’s Electric Ladyland remains a classic. Although I can’t claim to love Hendrix’s work, I understand the album’s appeal and think it offers a quality affair. Starring Jimi Hendrix. Sony Legacy, $53.99, 11/9/2018.

93. The Woman: Collector's Edition [4K UHD] (2011)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite an intriguing presence, The Woman doesn’t click on a consistent basis. It occasionally brings some punch but too much of the film feels clumsy and heavy-handed. Starring Pollyanna McIntosh, Sean Bridgers. Arrow, $49.95, 8/27/2024.

94. Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite my hopes that it’d provide a great little parody, Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story only occasionally entertains. It provides a fine cast and a smattering of solid laughs, but most of it just plods along without much point or wit ... I’m not wild about the movie, but I feel quite satisfied with this release. Starring John C. Reilly, Jenna Fischer. S

95. Extras: The Complete Second Season (2006)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Extras ends its (intentionally) short run with Season Two. If forced to pick, I’d say I prefer Season One, but S2 offers plenty of good material and seems very satisfying. As for the DVD, it offers perfectly decent picture, audio and supplements. The package doesn’t dazzle, but the show is definitely good enough to encourage my recommendation. Starring R

96. Backbeat: Collector's Edition (1994)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A major disappointment, Backbeat fails to bring the story of the early Beatles to life. It features simplistic characters and a focus on cheap emotion that take it into the category of bland melodrama. Starring Stephen Dorff, Ian Hart. Universal, $19.98, 1/25/2005.

97. Walk The Line: Extended Cut (2005)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Chalk up Walk the Line as a moderate success. The movie offers a decent look at the ups and downs of Johnny Cash’s life and career, and it features consistently good performances. However, it lacks a certain spark or sense of depth that would make it more memorable ... I don’t think the extended version of the film improves it, but the supplements make t

98. Tarzan: Special Edition (1999)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: If you don’t already have the prior Collector’s Edition of Tarzan, I’d go with this one. However, those who possess the previous 2-DVD package won’t find much reason to repurchase the film. It offered similar picture and audio, and it also included many more supplements. It remains the best Tarzan out there. Starring Tony Goldwyn, Minnie Driver. Disney,

99. Footloose: Special Collector's Edition (1984)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A fluffy combination of movie musical and social commentary, Footloose doesn’t hold up well after 20 years. The flick suffers from a lack of flair and excitement, as it mostly presents dull characters and predictable situations. Starring Kevin Bacon, Lori Singer. Paramount, $14.99, 9/28/2004.

100. The Golden Compass: Platinum Series (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I enjoy good fantasy films, but unfortunately, The Golden Compass lacks much to make it a quality piece of entertainment. It tells a muddled tale with underdeveloped characters and little involving action ... If you like Compass, this release is well worth your time, but I find it hard to recommend the mediocre film otherwise. Starring Nicole Kidman, Dan
