42. The Jungle Book: Collector's Edition [Blu-Ray 3D] (2016)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Essentially a remake of the 1967 animated version, 2016’s The Jungle Book delivers a moderately entertaining experience. The 3D edition boasts excellent visuals that add impact to the story. Starring Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley. Disney, $39.99, 11/15/2016.

43. The Jungle Book [Blu-Ray] (2016)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Essentially a remake of the 1967 animated version, 2016’s The Jungle Book delivers a moderately entertaining experience. However, it doesn’t make its own name for itself, as it copies the prior Disney flick too much. Starring Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley. Disney, $12.99, 8/30/2016.

44. Gigli (2003)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A flop of legendary proportions, Gigli will gain an audience mostly to find out one thing: is it really that bad? No, the flick’s not the worst ever made, but it certainly presents a slew of negatives and almost no positives. Starring Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez. Columbia, $26.96, 12/9/2003.

45. Annie Hall [Blu-Ray] (1977)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: After 35 years, Annie Hall remains arguably Woody Allen’s finest achievement. I might prefer a couple of other films, but it’s still a strong enterprise with few flaws. The Blu-ray provides good picture and acceptable audio but skimps of supplements. I wish Allen would open up to bonus materials, but I don’t blame the Blu-ray’s producers for this issue.

47. Eddie the Eagle [Blu-Ray] (2016)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While mildly watchable, Eddie the Eagle never becomes an especially invigorating inspirational movie. It touches on all the genre clichés without any real attempt to add life. Starring Taron Egerton, Hugh Jackman. Fox, $39.99, 6/14/2016.

49. Pennies From Heaven (1981)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A commercial failure and a generally forgotten part of the Steve Martin catalog, Pennies from Heaven subverts the traditional movie musical in interesting ways. It offers an entertainingly dark and creative look at its topic. Starring Steve Martin, Bernadette Peters. Warner, $19.98, 7/27/2004.
