13. The Adventures of Robin Hood: Special Edition (1938)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: 65 years down the road, The Adventures of Robin Hood remains a fine film. An enjoyable and likable action picture, I definitely recommend Adventures. Starring Errol F

15. Notorious [Blu-Ray] (1946)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Many seem to regard Notorious as one of Hitchcock’s all-time great films, but I must admit I don’t get its appeal. While it has its moments, I think it’s too slow and lacks enough intrigue to qualify as better than average. Starring Cary Grant, Ingrid Bergman. Criterion, $39.95, 1/15/2019.

I don’t think it totally lives up to its reputation, but I find it to offer a very well-crafted and engaging film. This Blu-ray presents very nice visuals with sound that seems quite good for its era plus a stellar set of supplements. Casa

19. Lawrence of Arabia (Superbit) (1962)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: My main recommendation would be for serious fans to own both versions. I’ll keep the 2001 release for its supplements, but I’ll watch the Superbit one in the future. If you refuse to own more than one package, however, I’d push for you to get the Superbit DVD. The picture improvements seem substantial enough for me to prefer to stick with it. I like the
