- 11. Halloween II: Collector's Edition [Blu-Ray] (1981)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As a sequel, Halloween II feels competent at best. It doesn’t extend the original in a particularly satisfying manner, though, so it ends up as a forgettable rehash. Starring Jamie Lee Curtis, Donald Pleasence. Shout, $19.99, 9/18/2012.

- 12. Halloween: Divimax 25th Anniversatry Edition (1978)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Halloween is definitely a DVD that should belong in the collection of anyone who even remotely considers themselves a fan of horror films. One of the most influential movies of any genre, it still holds up well after 25 years. The DVD’s image has inspired some controversy but seems generally very satisfying, and both audio and extras are quite positive.

- 13. THX 1138: Director's Edition (1971)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite a mix of flaws like this, THX-1138 mainly succeeds. It doesn’t offer an engrossing tale, but it comes across as ambitious and visually creative. Ultimately it presents a quirky and intriguing look at an overly conformist and suppressed society that proves compelling. Starring Robert Duvall, Donald Pleasence. Warner, $26.99, 9/14/2004.

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Should folks who already own the prior release pursue this Ultimate Edition? Definitely. It doesn’t add a slew of new extras, but the exclusives are interesting, and the UE presents substantial improvements in terms of picture and audio quality. This edition blows away its predecessor in those areas and is a must have for Bond fanatics. Starring Sean Con

- 16. THX 1138 [Blu-Ray] (1971)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: George Lucas’s first flick, THX-1138 will inevitably remain his least famous. However, that doesn’t make it his worst, as THX provides a flawed but intriguing and experience. The Blu-ray presents good picture and audio plus a fine set of useful and informative extras. I recommend this unusual movie, though I suspect fans who already own the 2004 DVD wil

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Unquestionably, fans who want the best visual and auditory rendition of Escape will pursue this Blu-ray, as it looked and sounded better than ever. However, it’s a shame that those same fans can’t retire their seven-year-old DVDs; the Blu-ray really should’ve included the SE’s supplements. Written and Directed by John Carpenter. MGM, $24.99, 8/3/2010.

- 20. Prince Of Darkness [Blu-Ray] (1987)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: By 1987’s Prince of Darkness, director John Carpenter seems to have gone onto auto-pilot. Though it boasts potential, the movie ends up as a predictable, trite collection of horror tropes. The Blu-ray brings us good picture and audio along with a nice collection of bonus materials. I think this becomes a quality representation of a mediocre movie. Writte
