- 131. Clash of the Titans: Collector's Edition [4K UHD] (2010)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With a series of good action scenes, Clash of the Titans could’ve been a satisfying adventure. Unfortunately, dull exposition and forgettable characters negate the film’s positives and make it a bit of a chore to watch. Starring Sam Worthington, Gemma Arterton. Arrow, $64.95, 8/13/2024.

- 132. Next (2007)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Next made nary a dent in the movie marketplace when it hit screens last spring, and I can’t claim that it deserved a better fate. Though it occasionally creates some interesting moments, too few of these pop up to make the flick a winner. It lacks enough substance, excitement and/or coherence to succeed. Starring Nicolas Cage, Julianne Moore. Paramount,

- 133. Ryan's Daughter: Special Edition (1970)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Since I count Lawrence of Arabia as one of my favorite films, it comes as a disappointment to find a David Lean flick as dull as Ryan’s Daughter. Lovely to look at but bloated and thin, the movie runs too long and offers far too little interesting material. Starring Robert Mitchum, Trevor Howard. Warner, $26.98, 2/7/2006.

- 135. 2001: A Space Odyssey - New Stanley Kubrick Collection (1968)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While I continue to maintain mixed feelings about 2001 itself, I can’t argue with its enduring legacy and the high level at which it was executed. The DVD offers fine picture and sound; only the supplements disappointment. Nonetheless, 2001 lovers will be pleased with this disc, as it presents the movie in a solid fashion. - 136. Patriots Day [Blu-Ray] (2017)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Involving and dramatic, Patriots Day covers the Boston Marathon bombing well. It brings us thrills along with emotion to become a satisfying exploration of the subject matter. Starring Mark Wahlberg, John Goodman. Lionsgate, $39.99, 3/28/2017.

- 137. Eight Men Out (1988)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: (I)t’s hard not to recommend a title like Eight Men Out. Perhaps the best baseball film ever made, this flick tells a bittersweet tale of talented players who blow it all and pay the price, and it does so in a straightforward but moving manner ... I love the movie, but it becomes hard to endorse such a problematic disc. Starring John Cusack, Charlie Shee

- 138. Django [Blu-Ray] (1966)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As a Spaghetti Western, Django doesn’t compare with the more famous efforts of Sergio Leone. Nonetheless, it fares well enough to make it a fairly lively and vivid piece of fun. Starring Franco Nero, Loredana Nusciak. Arrow, $49.95, 5/25/21.

- 139. Amélie [Blu-Ray] (2001)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite my substantial misgivings, I must admit I enjoyed Amélie, at least to a moderate degree. The movie never fully dispelled my preconceived notions about it, but it managed to present a generally entertaining and amusing piece. The Blu-ray offered very strong picture quality along with restrained but solid sound and a very nice collection of extras.

- 140. The Invasion (2007)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Given its failure at the box office, one could assume that The Invasion is a terrible flick. It’s not, though I also can’t call it an especially interesting effort. It’s just good enough to maintain our interest for 99 minutes, but it falls far short of the heights achieved by its more successful predecessors ... Give it a rental if you’re curious to see
