161. The Dirty Dozen: Special Edition (1967)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Gritty and exciting, The Dirty Dozen provides an enduring action movie. Though the film rambles at times, it mostly sticks with a lively tale that works well after nearly 40 years. Starring Lee Marvin, Ernest Borgnine. Warner, $26.98, 5/23/2006.

162. The Matrix Experience: The Ultimate Matrix Collection (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The Ultimate Matrix Collection truly offers an impressive set. My praise comes with some complaints; the six audio commentaries across the three movies really arenít very good, and some of the other elements donít live up to expectations. Nonetheless, the amount of information impresses, and outside of the commentaries, most of it entertains and illumina

163. Eight Men Out: 20th Anniversary Edition (1988)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Perhaps the best baseball film ever made, Eight Men Out tells a bittersweet tale of talented players who blow it all and pay the price, and it does so in a straightforward but moving manner ... This is a terrific set that I heartily recommend, and that goes for fans who own the old release as well; it offers a big improvement when compared to that disc.

164. Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (Unrated Special Edition) (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: (T)wo separate Walk Hard DVDs are on the market. Thereís also a single-disc release with just the theatrical version of the film and an abbreviated set of extras. This two-DVD release retails for only one dollar than the other package, so I can think of no reason to bother with it. The two-disc version includes all of the same materials plus plenty other

165. King Kong: Special Edition (2005)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Though the movie sags during its first act, the excitement and thrills of the subsequent two hours make up for its flaws. The DVD offers virtually flawless picture and audio along with a nice set of informative extras. I definitely recommend Kong and think this two-DVD Special Edition stands as its best current iteration. Starring Naomi Watts, Jack Black

166. The T.A.M.I. Show: Collector's Edition (1964)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: One of the most legendary rock movies ever made, The TAMI Show finally receives an official home video release. Does it deserve its fame? Iíd say yes, as it packs an often excellent roster of rock/soul/pop greats into its 113 minutes ... As for the DVD, it looks and sounds pretty bad in an objective sense. However, sometimes my grading doesnít tell the w

167. Dreamgirls: Showstopper Edition (2006)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Dreamgirls provides an inconsistent but often entertaining piece of work. Though it sags as it goes, it provides a better than average movie musical and displays enough strengths to make it worthwhile. As for the DVD, it presents excellent picture and audio along with a stellar set of extras. This set gives us an enjoyable flick and a top-notch package.

168. 2001: A Space Odyssey - Special Edition (1968)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While I continue to maintain mixed feelings about 2001 itself, I canít argue with its enduring legacy and the high level at which it was executed. This DVD presents excellent picture and very good audio. The extras are a bit of a mixed bag but they add value to the set. This is definitely the best 2001 release to date. Written & Directed by Stanley Kubri

169. Disneyland Secrets, Stories, And Magic (Walt Disney Treasures) (2005)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Sometimes a DVD provides great extras and a mediocre main program. That occurs with Disneyland Secrets, Stories and Magic. The titular documentary is fluffy and frustrating, with average picture and audio quality. However, we get lots of fine supplements here, as we discover loads of fascinating archival elements. Those make this a worthwhile collection
