21. Lemony Snicket's A Series Of Unfortunate Events: Collector's Edition (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I don’t think Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events consistently fires on all cylinders, as some awkward episodic plotting and too much focus on guest actors makes it a bit jerky at times. However, a strong lead performance from Jim Carrey and a delightful cynical tone mean that it usually entertains. Starring Jim Carrey, Meryl Streep. Paramoun

22. Citizen Kane: Criterion Collection [Blu-Ray] (1941)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Possibly the most praised film in history, Citizen Kane remains an excellent experience more than 80 years after its initial release. The movie has aged well and its stylistic techniques seem dynamic and compelling to this day. Starring Orson Welles, Joseph Cotten. Criterion, $49.95, 11/23/2021.

23. Dan In Real Life [Blu-Ray] (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Although I liked Dan in Real Life more than I expected, that comes as faint praise. The movie does come with some quality elements, but it gets bogged down in a thin story and too much filler. Starring Steve Carell, Juliette Binoche. Buena Vista, $9.99, 3/11/2008.

24. Shutter Island [Blu-Ray] (2010)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Though I admire Martin Scorsese’s willingness to stretch his cinematic boundaries, Shutter Island indicates that he lacks much aptitude for psychological thrillers. Scorsese makes too much of the film’s subtext obvious so the end result lacks nuance or impact. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo. Paramount, $15.00, 6/8/2010.

26. Charlie Wilson's War (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Taken on its own merits, Charlie Wilson’s War offers a reasonably entertaining piece of work. However, given all of the talent behind it, “reasonably entertaining” becomes exceedingly faint praise ... In the end, this becomes a mediocre DVD for a moderately enjoyable flick. Starring Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts. Universal, $29.98, 4/22/2008.

27. Dan In Real Life (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Although I liked Dan in Real Life more than I expected, that comes as faint praise. The movie does come with some quality elements, but it gets bogged down in a thin story and too much filler ... I have no big complaints about the disc, but the film itself is too erratic to succeed. Starring Steve Carell, Juliette Binoche. Buena Vista, $29.99, 3/11/2008.

28. The Muppets [Blu-Ray] (2011)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Many viewed the prospect of The Muppets with trepidation, but fans needn’t have worried. It’s an enormous success, as it delights from beginning to end. The Blu-ray boasts excellent picture and audio as well as a pretty good collection of supplements, though the commentary isn’t as I’d hoped. If 2011 produced a movie more fun than The Muppets, I didn’t f
