11. Old Yeller (1957)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Although nothing more than basic tale about a boy and his dog, Old Yeller remains popular due to its heartfelt telling and generally solid execution.

12. The Swarm [Blu-Ray] (1978)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Since I thought The Swarm stunk when I was 11, I shouldn’t have expected to like it more at 51. Indeed, the film remains a clunker of monumental proportions. Starring Michael Caine, Katharine Ross. Warner, $21.99, 9/25/2018.

13. Neptune's Daughter [Blu-Ray] (1949)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A light mix of comedy, romance and music, Neptune’s Daughter provides a wholly insubstantial affair. While it occasionally entertains, it seems too devoid of impact to really work. Starring Esther Williams, Ricardo Montalban. Warner, $21.99, 3/14/2023.

15. The Shaggy D.A.: The Canine Candidate Edition (1976)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Maybe I liked The Shaggy DA simply due to nostalgia. I was nine when it came out, and I remember seeing it – and liking it – as a kid. 30 years later, I can see the movie’s many flaws, but I also can appreciate the many solid actors present and enjoy their work. The performers almost single-handedly make the movie entertaining. Starring Dean Jones, Tim C

16. Call Northside 777 (1948)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With a good cast and a potentially intriguing story, I hoped to like Call Northside 777. Unfortunately, the movie lacked any form of imagination or inspiration to make it something more than a tedious and often silly detective story. Starring James Stewart, Richard Conte. Fox, $14.98, 3/15/2005.

18. His Girl Friday: Criterion Collection [Blu-Ray] (1940)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Other than some politically incorrect material, His Girl Friday holds up well over the last 76 years. The movie offers bright characters and lots of laughs. Starring Cary Grant, Rosalind Russell. Criterion, $49.95, 1/10/20017.
