Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: More subtle than the average horror film, I won’t call Hereditary a classic. However, it’s firmly above average and brings a good tale our way. Starring Toni Collette, Gabriel Byrne. Lionsgate, $29.99, 9/4/2018.

- 13. The Man In the Iron Mask (1998)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Now best-known as Leonardo DiCaprio’s first film released after Titanic, The Man In the Iron Mask delivers a bland affair. Even with dollops of action and intrigue, the film can’t provide any real excitement or drama. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Jeremy Irons. MGM, $9.98, 8/11/1998.

- 14. The Usual Suspects [Blu-Ray] (1995)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: If you don’t want to wait for an upgraded Blu-ray that may never arrive, I’d recommend that you go with the standard release of Suspects. It offers the same disc as this version and lists for $15 less than this book edition. While I like the book, it’s not worth an additional $15, so stick with the regular Blu-ray if you want a copy of the film. Starring

- 15. Assault On Precinct 13 (2005)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Though the original Assault of Precinct 13 is no classic, it looks awfully good in comparison with this tepid remake. Despite a stronger cast and better production values, the 2005 Assault is a bland, forgettable flick. Starring Ethan Hawke, Laurence Fishburne. Universal/Rogue, $29.98, 5/10/2005.

- 16. Perrier's Bounty [Blu-Ray] (2009)

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As a violent mix of gangter tale and dark comedy, Perrier’s Bounty sporadically hits the mark. However, it lacks the coherence it needs to come together into something more than occasional entertainment. Starring Cillian Murphy, Brendan Gleeson. Shout, $29.99, 10/1/2024.

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: At its heart, The 33 boasts an enormously dramatic story. Unfortunately, the movie tells it in such a trite, cliché manner that it loses much of its natural power. Starring Antonio Banderas, Lou Diamond Phillips. Warner, $35.99, 2/16/2016.
