131. Hostel: Director's Cut (2005)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: (Should) fans who possess the original release should replace it with the two-disc DC? Probably not – at least not unless they really, really like the movie. The added supplements will tempt those fans, but the Director’s Cut itself isn’t worth the effort. This is a solid release in its own right, but I don’t think it merits a second purchase for anyone

132. Star Trek [4K UHD] (2009)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While it delivers a rousing adventure, the 2009 reboot just doesn’t feel enough like Star Trek to totally satisfy. The 4K UHD boasts improved picture and audio compared to the original Blu-ray. Starring Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto. Paramount, $24.99, 6/14/2016.

133. Spider-Man 3: Special Edition (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Although Spider-Man 3 seems destined to go down as the franchise’s least well-regarded effort – at least of the first three – I don’t agree with all the negativity thrown its way. While the film has its flaws, it still provides a strong adventure with a warm emotional center not usually found in comic book material. It certainly succeeds more than it fai

134. The Larry Sanders Show: Not Just The Best Of The Larry Sanders Show (1992-1998)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I never saw The Larry Sanders Show during its run on HBO, and I now regret that. Experienced in this compilation called Not Just the Best of the Larry Sanders Show, I missed an excellent series ... I had a lot of fun with this package and definitely recommend it. Starring Garry Shandling, Jeffrey Tambor, Rip Torn. Sony, $49.95, 4/17/2007.

135. Casablanca: 70th Anniversary Limited Collector's Edition [Blu-Ray] (1942)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: So what’s a Casablanca fan to do? Probably wait and hope that WB puts out this set’s first disc on its own in the not-too-distant future. While I like the documentaries on Disc Two as well as the book and poster, they’re just not worth the package’s nearly $65 list price. If you don’t care about the cost, the 70th Anniversary release will make you happy,

136. The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (Extended Edition) [Blu-Ray] (2002)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The Two Towers doesn’t feel as engrossing as its predecessor, but that’s almost inevitable given its spot as the middle chapter of a trilogy. It’s still an excellent movie that continues the tale well. The Blu-ray adds 44 minutes of mostly useful and entertaining material that serves to make the film even stronger than its Oscar-nominated theatrical cut.

137. Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Live (9-DVD Set) (2009)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: One can quibble with some of the selections – and omissions – made by the Rock Hall of Fame over the decades, but I think they get it right the vast majority of the time. In addition, they bring together many of rock’s greatest stars to play on stage, a fact portrayed by the amazing lineup found across the nine discs of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Live. I

138. 'Twas The Night Before Christmas [Blu-Ray] (1974)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I remember ’Twas the Night Before Christmas fondly from my youth, and the special still holds up pretty well 37 years after its debut. The show delivers a charming, enjoyable little fable. The Blu-ray provides it in decent fashion, but picture and audio are held back by the flaws of the source material, and we get skimpy supplements. I enjoy Night but $2

140. The Other Boleyn Girl [Blu-Ray] (2008)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Although I expected a sappy chick flick, The Other Boleyn Girl instead provided a crisp and dark view of 16th century society. Bolstered by some fine performances, the movie keeps us interested and entertained. Starring Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson. Sony, $9.99, 6/10/2008.
