181. All Quiet On The Western Front (1930)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Although All Quiet On the Western Front is clearly a flawed DVD, I still have to recommend it because of the quality of the movie itself. The film provides a powerful and relatively graphic portrayal of war that might give pause to even the most gung-ho hawk. Starring Louis Wolheim, Lew Ayres. Universal, $24.98, 1/5/1999.

182. Contagion [4K UHD] (2011)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With plenty of Oscar-winning talent both behind and in front of the camera, Contagion boasts a much higher pedigree than the usual thriller – and it packs a greater punch after COVID-19 than it did in 2011. Despite these strengths, the film seems too hurried and objective to become a great movie, so it becomes consistently interesting but spotty. Sta

183. The Bad News Bears Go to Japan (1978)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The movie itself is such a disaster that it’s totally beyond redemption.

184. Nine Innings From Ground Zero (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: For an unusual take on the repercussions of September 11, we get Nine Innings from Ground Zero. At times this program doesn’t balance its two sides terribly well, but it avoids most related pitfalls and ultimately comes together nicely. Narrated by Liev Schreiber. HBO, $19.97, 3/29/2005.

185. Labyrinth [Blu-Ray] (1986)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Labyrinth will never be one of my favorite films, and if it didn’t star my all-time favorite performer, I’d probably never have bothered with it. Still, it has enough going for it that kids should enjoy it. The Blu-ray presents very good picture along with pretty positive audio and a strong set of supplements. The Blu-ray doesn’t blow away the prior DVD

186. Eastwood After Hours: Live at Carnegie Hall (1996)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While the show was fairly well executed, I didn’t discover anything tremendously exciting about it, though jazz fans may feel differently.

187. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom [4K UHD] (1984)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom doesn’t compare favorably with its predecessor, but what does? Temple acts as a mildly flawed but generally exciting and entertaining action flick whose main flaw is that it’s not an all-time classic like Raiders. Starring Harrison Ford, Kate Capshaw. Paramount, $99.98, 6/8/2021.

188. Texas Rangers (2001)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The movie provides a trite and tiresome piece that won’t bring the Western to life for a new generation.

189. Foreign Correspondent (1940)
Reviewed by Brian Ludovico: Once again, we have a film that doesn’t really belong pushed to the second class of the Hitchcock filmography, one that is only there by virtue of Hitch’s enormous body of masterpieces. No, Foreign Correspondent doesn’t have Cary Grant, Jimmy Stewart, Grace Kelly or Ingrid Bergman, but the performances are almost uniformly outstanding. For a man who was

190. Labyrinth: Anniversary Edition (1986)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As with any movie that’s gone through multiple DVD re-releases, the question becomes which one is the best. I think that this “Anniversary Edition” stands as the most appealing of the four, but don’t expect it to blow away the old versions. Starring David Bowie, Jennifer Connelly. Columbia TriStar, $24.96, 8/14/2007.
