23. The Guns Of Navarone [Blu-Ray] (1961)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Although some aspects of it appear a bit dated, The Guns of Navarone holds up well for a 50-year-old action film. The Blu-ray delivers erratic but acceptable picture along with very good audio and supplements. This ends up as the strongest home video release of the film to date. Starring Gregory Peck, David Niven, Anthony Quinn. Sony, $19.99, 10/18/2011.

24. Spellbound [Blu-Ray] (1945)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Unfortunately, I didn’t think that Spellbound provided one of Alfred Hitchcock’s stronger works. Though the movie had its moments, I felt that it seemed silly and indulgent overall. The Blu-ray provides good picture and audio along with a nice set of supplements. While I’m not wild about the film, the Blu-ray treats it well. Starring Ingrid Bergman, Greg

25. Spellbound: Criterion Collection (1945)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Hitchcock fans will feel pleased with the Criterion release of Spellbound, but less stalwart partisans will probably want to check out some of his other works instead.

26. The Omen [Blu-Ray] (2006)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: If you go anticipate a creative, fresh experience from the 2006 take on The Omen, you’ll leave disappointed, as it adheres very closely to its predecessor. Despite its lack of creativity, however, it improves on the original with a more intricate, less florid view of events. Starring Liev Schreiber, Julia Stiles. Fox, $9.98, 10/10/2006.

27. Bitch Slap: Unrated (2009)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While Quentin Tarantino and a few others create effective 70s throwback flicks, the folks behind Bitch Slap can’t pull off their not-so-lofty goals. Despite lots of action and many sexy women, the movie turns into a surprisingly dull affair; it throws a great deal of tawdry material at us but none of it actually entertains. The DVD provides very good pic

28. The Omen Legacy (2001)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Although the original Omen remains an influential and important film, The Omen Legacy doesn’t present a great examination of the series and its history. Some interesting moments appear, but overall, the disc feels mostly like a “Cliff’s Notes” version of the various flicks. Narrated by Jack Palance. Image Entertainment, $19.99, 10/14/2003.

29. The Omen (2006)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: If you go anticipate a creative, fresh experience from the 2006 take on The Omen, you’ll leave disappointed, as it adheres very closely to its predecessor. If you want a fairly tight, spooky horror flick, however, the remake is the one to watch. Despite its lack of creativity, it improves on the original with a more intricate, less florid view of events.

30. JFK: 50 Year Commemorative Ultimate Collector's Edition [Blu-Ray] (1991)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Oliver Stone has yet to make a better film than 1991’s JFK. However, Stone abuses his power so egregiously that I have a difficult time appreciating JFK because it’s such a load of hooey. Starring Kevin Costner,Kevin Bacon. Warner, $59.99, 11/12/2013.
