31. Christmas With The Simpsons (2003)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As much as I love The Simpsons, I find it tough to recommend Christmas wholeheartedly. Fans who own the Season One DVD set will already own one of the episodes, and the disc’s best program – “Mr. Plow” – will appear during the next one to hit the shelves when Season Four finally makes it out of the factory. It’ll take much longer for us to get to any of

32. Friends: The Complete Ninth Season (2002)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While some good episodes appear, Season Nine of Friends is probably its weakest since the early years. The shows aren’t bad, but they lack the effortless spark of the program’s best seasons. Big fans of Friends will want to own Season Nine, but those with a less serious interest in the show probably will be fine without it. Warner, $44.98, 3/8/2005.

33. The Simpsons: The Complete Sixteenth Season [Blu-Ray] (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As The Simpsons progresses, it becomes more and more erratic, so don’t expect consistency from Season 16. Still, it offers reasonable entertainment and occasionally reminds us why we came to love the series in the first place. The Blu-rays presents pretty good visuals, audio and bonus materials. I wouldn’t buy Season 16 if I didn’t already own the series

34. The Simpsons: The Complete Second Season
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Season Two of The Simpsons made me the fan I am today, and the shows hold up very well after more than a decade.

35. The Simpsons: The Complete Third Season (1991)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Season Three of The Simpsons finds the series as it really comes into its own. The occasional slight misfire occurs, but the show demonstrates a level of confidence sometimes absent during the first two years, and this results in a lot of great comedy. Created by Matt Groening. Fox, $49.98, 8/26/2003.

36. Futurama: Volume 3 (2001)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Always a consistently good series, Volume 3 of Futurama proves to offer the best yet. The shows come across as solid across the board, with only a smattering of lackluster programs. Created by Matt Groening. Fox, $49.98, 3/9/2004.

37. The Simpsons: Kiss & Tell - The Story Of Their Love (2006)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Since Kiss and Tell only includes episodes that haven’t yet appeared on DVD, it’ll be enticing for fans to snare. We’ll probably get Season Nine’s “Natural Born Kissers” before long, but it could be a while before the other three shows hit DVD. That makes Kiss and Tell a decent addition to the collections of impatient fans or for those who just want a ni

38. Grosse Point Blank [Blu-Ray] (1997)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With Grosse Pointe Blank, we find an intriguing story hampered by problematic development. I like the movie’s idea but don’t think the end product satisfies; it’s mild entertainment and that’s all. The Blu-ray provides decent but erratic visuals, good audio and nearly non-existent supplements. I wish I liked Blank more than I do, but the end product just

39. The Simpsons Christmas 2 (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: At the top of its game, The Simpsons is arguably the best TV series of all-time. The Simpsons Christmas 2 doesn’t represent the show at its peak. Occasionally the episodes muster some minor amusement, but don’t expect much from them. Fox, $14.98, 11/2/2004.

40. The Simpsons Gone Wild (1989)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The Simpsons Gone Wild isn’t a great set, but it should interest fans who grow impatient to get these episodes via their respective full season DVD sets. Heck, it’s going to be a while before we get to most of those years, so at least we can enjoy them on DVD during the interim. Created by Matt Groening. Fox, $14.98, 9/14/2004.
