11. Ratatouille [4K UHD] (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Through multiple screenings, I kept hoping I would embrace Ratatouille, but no breakthrough ever came. I enjoy the film and find much to like about it, but it lacks that certain kick that would allow me to really love it. Starring Patton Oswalt, Lou Romano. Disney, $39.99, 9/10/2019.

12. Chariots Of Fire [Blu-Ray Book] (1981)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Chariots of Fire is far from the worst film that ever took home the Best Picture Oscar, but it's a curiously bland and uninspired affair. I found it eminently watchable and fitfully compelling, but I have no clue why it took home such high honors. The Blu-ray brings us good audio as well as excellent picture and extras. While I doubt I’ll ever think high

13. Naked Lunch: Criterion Collection (1991)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The lack of foreknowledge makes Naked Lunch a bit more difficult to fathom than otherwise might be the case. The movie attempts something different and occasionally succeeds as an intriguing piece, but not with much consistency. Naked Lunch seems far too off-putting for a mass audience, but fans will clearly like this well executed DVD release. Directed

14. Time Bandits: Criterion Collection (1981)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: In the end, although I clearly find fault with the film, I enjoy Time Bandits enough that the movie comes recommended. Fans of Time Bandits will find this to offer the best version of the movie on DVD, but the film definitely could use a remastering. Directed by Terry Gilliam. Criterion, $34.98, 3/30/1999.

15. Time Bandits: Divimax Edition (1981)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The 2004 release of Time Bandits definitely warrants a repurchase for anyone who already owns either of the prior releases. The old Anchor Bay release now seems totally useless, as the new one totally outclasses it. However, those with the Criterion version will probably still want to hold onto it for its pretty informative audio commentary. Starring Joh

16. From Hell (2001)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While From Hell had its moments, the film seemed surprisingly flat and ordinary.

17. Alien: 2003 Special Edition (Alien Quadrilogy Boxed Set) (1979)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: ... the 2003 DVD of Alien is a killer. The movie earned its status as an innovative classic, and despite some slow spots, it holds up well after all these years. The DVD presents startlingly excellent picture with dated but generally positive audio plus an excellent and deep set of supplements. For Alien fans, this set is a genuine treat. Starring Sigour

18. The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (Limited Edition) (2001)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: So who – if anyone – will want to buy this “Limited Edition”? Absolute die-hards will likely grab it to complete their collections, though I don’t think they’ll miss much without it. Does the new documentary tell us anything we don’t already know from the first two sets? Not really. A few interesting unique bits may emerge, but I don’t feel as though it

19. Time Bandits [Blu-Ray] (1981)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: In the end, although I clearly find fault with the film, I enjoy Time Bandits enough that the movie comes recommended. It sags at around the mid-point, but it still packs enough lively and amusing material to merit a look. The Blu-ray presents problematic picture and audio and only one decent supplement. I enjoy the film, but this Blu-ray is a weak rele

20. The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King [Blu-Ray] (2003)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A terrific conclusion to a remarkable trilogy, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King provides a real winner. It moves quickly, keeps us involved and excited, and pays off with a satisfying and emotional finish. The Blu-ray offers excellent picture and audio but only includes a fairly superficial and redundant roster of extras. I definitely recom
