11. Extract [Blu-Ray] (2009)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As a fan of his TV series, I looked forward to Mike Judge’s Extract. Unfortunately, his usual comedic sharpness fails to manifest itself in this fairly bland offering. The Blu-ray provides surprisingly fuzzy visuals along with decent audio and a minor set of supplements. Leave this mediocre movie and disc for die-hard Judge fans – and even they probably

12. I Love You, Man [Blu-Ray] (2009)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite the tapped out nature of this kind of guy-based comedy, I Love You, Man keeps us interested. The movie doesn’t reinvent any wheels, but it boasts a nice cast and proves to be amusing and enjoyable. The Blu-ray offers very good picture, acceptable audio and a nice collection of supplements. This is a nice release for an entertaining film. Starring

13. Jennifer's Body [Blu-Ray] (2009)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: How is it possible that a flick about Megan Fox as an undead teen could be so entirely dull? I’m not sure, but boredom is the only emotion Jennifer’s Body provokes. It fails as both comedy and horror. The Blu-ray presents good picture and audio as well as a generally positive package of supplements. While I have no problems with this release, the movie i

14. The Ladykillers (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I wouldn’t look at The Ladykillers as anything special or a blazingly funny flick. Nonetheless, it proved generally amusing and light, at least until we got to the violence of the conclusion. It didn’t qualify as a memorable movie but it was reasonably enjoyable. Starring Tom Hanks, Marlon Wayans. Buena Vista, $29.99, 9/7/2004.

15. The Words (2012)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As Christopher Nolan, Quentin Tarantino and many others have shown, filmmakers can muck with standard storytelling chronology/perspective and still create fascinating, coherent works. The Words attempts various forms of cinematic changeups but none of them succeed, as they just turn the flick into a collection of gimmicks without a substantial core. The

16. Spider-Man 2: Superbit (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I really liked the quality of the Superbit disc but as a fan, I’d not like to lose the terrific supplements from the special edition. Ultimately, I think the two-disc set will remain the most satisfying for the most people. After all, it’s not like it looked or sounded bad. However, for those with an interest in taking in the highest quality presentation

17. Spider-Man 2 (2012 Re-Issue) [Blu-Ray] (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Unfortunately, the Blu-ray lacks many extras found on the old DVDs, so fans who own those will need to hold onto them. If you already have the 2007 Blu-ray and either own the bonus features from the DVDs or don’t care about those materials, there’s no reason to upgrade; the 2012 Blu-ray demonstrates picture/audio that seem similar to the earlier release.

18. Spider-Man 2 [Blu-Ray] (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Some will argue that Spider-Man 2 outdoes its predecessor. I loved the first movie too much to agree, but I also can’t find too much fault with those thoughts, as the sequel works awfully well. It presents a lively, vivid, funny, dramatic and touching experience that continues the series brilliantly. The Blu-ray’s picture quality is consistently top-notc

20. Spider-Man [Blu-Ray] (2002)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Happily, Spider-Man itself doesn’t disappoint. The movie offers a lively and exciting piece that possesses greater depth and emotion than one might usually expect from this sort of film. It doesn’t seem perfect, but it works tremendously well as a whole and it captures the parts of the comic books that make them so memorable. The Blu-ray provides strong
