21. Chinatown: Special Collector's Edition (1974)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: This is an easy recommendation for folks who don’t have the old release but I think it’s very worthwhile as a double-dip as well. The new extras are pretty interesting and the picture quality marks a good upgrade. Since Paramount priced the DVD at a dirt-cheap $14.99, this is a no brainer; go ahead and grab this one ASAP. Starring Jack Nicholson, Faye Du

22. Reds: 25th Anniversary Edition (1981)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Reds may have been upset for the Best Picture Oscar, but I’d argue it was better than the flick that actually won. While it shows some flaws, the movie maintains a nicely objective and unsentimental tone that allows it to become involving and effective. Starring Warren Beatty, Diane Keaton. Paramount, $19.99, 10/17/2006.

23. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest: Collector's Edition [Blu-Ray] (1975)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While I remain unconvinced that One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest deserved the Best Picture award for 1975, it remains a very fine piece of filmmaking. Occasionally it falls into some traps, but it usually stays compelling and provocative, and it also offers consistently excellent acting. The Blu-ray provides average picture quality, fairly good audio and

25. A Few Good Men [Blu-Ray] (1992)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: At 138 minutes, A Few Good Men runs a little long, but most of the film seems compelling and taut, with only occasional slow spots. I love courtroom dramas, and this one provides a lot of tense legal action that makes it endearing to me. Starring Tom Cruise, Jack Nicholson. Sony, $19.98, 9/18/2007.

26. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest: Special Edition (1975)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The DVD radically improves upon the original 1997 release. It provides substantially stronger picture and audio quality and many additional supplements.

28. The Departed: Special Edition (2006)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While it forms an interesting picture, The Departed doesn’t match up with director Martin Scorsese’s best. It entertains and acts as a worthwhile experience, but it doesn’t leave a substantial impression like Scorsese’s more memorable material. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon. Warner, $34.99, 2/13/2007.

29. The Bucket List (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Perhaps someone more daring than Rob Reiner could’ve turned The Bucket List into something memorable. Unfortunately, he goes for lowest common denominator territory in this predictable, sentimental and tedious affair. The DVD provides bland picture and audio; it also lacks substantial extras. Skip this dud. Starring Jack Nicholson, Morgan Freeman. Warner
