21. The Green Mile: Special Edition (1999)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Mile definitely deserves your attention, and if you don’t own the prior DVD, go for this special edition. It also offers a good upgrade for those who do possess the original disc. In addition to all the new extras, the 2006 transfer seemed considerably sharper and clearer. This release is a solid piece of work. Starring Tom Hanks, Michael Clarke Duncan.

22. Spider-Man 3 (2012 Re-Issue) [Blu-Ray] (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: ... If you already have the 2007 Blu-ray, there’s no reason whatsoever to get this one. If you don’t own that one and don’t care about the missing extras, this one might be the way to go – it sells for a little cheaper than the two-disc set. Starring Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst. Sony, $19.99, 6/12/2012.

23. The Sum of All Fears [4K UHD] (2002)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While I don’t think The Sum of All Fears does much that seems particularly original or compelling, it offers a reasonably involving action flick that works acceptably well as a whole. Starring Ben Affleck, Morgan Freeman. Paramount, $69.98, 8/21/18.

24. Star Trek: First Contact (1996)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: One of the better Star Trek films, First Contact provides a consistently satisfying affair.

25. Deep Impact [Blu-Ray] (1998)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: At times, Deep Impact offers a reasonably involving and dramatic disaster movie, but it focuses too heavily on bland character drama. Since none of the roles receive enough attention for us to care, this means that the movie often falls flat. Starring Tea Leoni, Morgan Freeman. Paramount, $9.99, 10/6/2009.

26. Surrogates [Blu-Ray] (2009)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Though Surrogates comes with an intriguing sci-fi concept, it almost totally fails to explore its subject matter. Instead, it provides a sloppy story marred with massive leaps of logic and plot holes. The Blu-ray boasts very good picture and audio along with a smattering of extras highlighted by an excellent commentary. I have no complaints about this re

27. Deep Impact: Special Collector's Edition (1998)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As for recommendations, I think Deep Impact is moderately entertaining at best, so I wouldn’t tout it for someone who doesn’t already like the movie. Fans should be fairly pleased with this set, though. Even if you own the prior release, it’s worth an upgrade here. The extras don’t excel, but they provide some insight into the production, and the new tra

28. Boardwalk Empire: The Complete Third Season [Blu-Ray] (2012)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: After two good years, Season Three of Boardwalk Empire continues the series’ solid run. Maybe eventually it’ll sag, but so far it remains involving and engrossing. The Blu-rays provide generally positive picture and audio along with a nice set of bonus materials. Fans should find more of what they like from S3. Starring Steve Buscemi, Kelly Macdonald. HB

29. Star Trek: The Next Generation - Season Six (1992)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Season Six offered a lot of entertainment and proved that some kick remained in the series.

30. Star Trek: The Next Generation - Season Three (1989)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: When a set includes 26 episodes and only a few of them seem mediocre or weak, that’s a great record, and this is a terrific set.
