61. Date Night [Blu-Ray] (2010)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While it never reinvents the “fish out of water” wheel, Date Night still proves to be thoroughly entertaining. Much of the credit goes to an excellent cast highlighted by fine performances from Tina Fey and Steve Carell. The Blu-ray gives us decent to good picture and audio as well as a useful, engaging set of supplements. I like this flick and think th

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Does The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies finish the trilogy in a satisfying fashion? Yes and no – while it comes with plenty of excitement, it lacks the emotional depth/impact that it needs. Starring Ian McKellen, Martin Freeman. New Line, $35.99, 11/17/2015.

63. The Green Mile [Blu-Ray] (1999)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The Green Mile offers an entertaining little fable. It takes too long to get to its conclusion and follows too many dead ends along the way, but I still feel that it works well as a whole, largely due to the presence of a fine cast. The Blu-ray itself offers mediocre picture, very good sound and a nice collection of extras. This remains a solid movie, bu

64. The Simpsons Movie (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: If fans expect a real laughfest from The Simpsons Movie, they’ll probably encounter disappointment. While amusing and enjoyable, the film never quite delivers the level of cleverness and wit we want. It feels like a slightly above average episode and nothing more ... Though the movie doesn’t live up to the best of The Simpsons, it’s good enough to earn a

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While not as good as any of the Lord of the Rings films, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey launches a new franchise in an enjoyable manner. The movie’s “Extended Edition” delivers a mild variation on the theatrical cut that’s fun to see but doesn’t substantially alter/improve the original. Starring Ian McKellen, Martin Freeman. 67. Footloose [Blu-Ray] (1984)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A fluffy combination of movie musical and social commentary, Footloose doesn’t hold up well after almost 30 years. The flick suffers from a lack of flair and excitement, as it mostly presents dull characters and predictable situations. The Blu-ray offers erratic but usually appealing visuals, surprisingly involving and clear audio and some nice extras

68. The Green Mile: Special Edition (1999)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Mile definitely deserves your attention, and if you don’t own the prior DVD, go for this special edition. It also offers a good upgrade for those who do possess the original disc. In addition to all the new extras, the 2006 transfer seemed considerably sharper and clearer. This release is a solid piece of work. Starring Tom Hanks, Michael Clarke Duncan.
