-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Three films into the franchise, one knows what to anticipate from a Chipmunks movie, and Chipwrecked lives up – or down – to expectations. It provides occasional amusement but suffers from a general lack of inspiration and cleverness. The Blu-ray gives us good picture and audio along with some decent supplements. If you already enjoy the Chipmunks, you’l

- 13. The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (Extended Edition) [Blu-Ray] (2002)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The Two Towers doesn’t feel as engrossing as its predecessor, but that’s almost inevitable given its spot as the middle chapter of a trilogy. It’s still an excellent movie that continues the tale well. The Blu-ray adds 44 minutes of mostly useful and entertaining material that serves to make the film even stronger than its Oscar-nominated theatrical cut.

- 14. The Lord of the Rings: The Return Of The King - Platinum Series Extended Edition (2003)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I definitely preferred the extended takes on Fellowship and Towers to their theatrical renditions, whereas that’s not the case here. Nonetheless, this shouldn’t negate the fact that the 4-disc King offers a spectacular package. I can’t praise it enough, as it presents yet another stunning release that stands as arguably the greatest DVD ever released. Di

- 16. Dracula III: Legacy (2005)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Just what we don’t need: another bad vampire movie. Unfortunately, Dracula III: Legacy is nothing more than a forgettable and tedious excursion in occasional blood-sucking. Starring Jason Scott Lee, Jason London. Buena Vista, $29.99, 7/12/2005.

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I didn’t expect much from Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel, and yet the movie still disappointed. While the original wasn’t good, it provides substantially more entertainment than this meandering, moronic follow-up. The Blu-ray comes with generally good picture, mediocre audio, and a roster of fluffy but occasionally interesting supplements. I sus

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Four films in, fans know exactly what to expect from the Alvin and the Chipmunks franchise: mediocre family entertainment. The Road Chip replicates the formula with a watchable but forgettable experience. Starring Jason Lee, Justin Long. Fox, $39.99, 3/15/2016.

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite my initial dislike of the flick when I saw it theatrically, I’ve found that Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back grew on me, and I enjoyed it quite a lot more during my subsequent assessments. The Blu-ray provides pretty good audio and an enjoyable audio commentary. However, it drops the massive roster of supplements from the 2002 DVD, and picture qual

- 20. Chasing Amy [Blu-Ray] (1997)

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Kevin Smith will probably never create a truly great movie, as he's just too inconsistent. However, despite the hit-or-miss nature of his work, he provides more than enough creativity and wit to make the films generally very good, and Chasing Amy stands as his best work to date. The Blu-ray provides erratic but acceptable picture, good audio, and a simpl
