41. The Searchers (1956)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: My opinion may fall in the minority, but I just wasn't impressed with The Searchers. I expect I'll get nasty e-mails since the film seems to maintain such a strong following but I have to go with what I felt, and I simply found nothing of any great interest or depth in this film. I didn't see any way that it differed from all of the ordinary Westerns of

42. The Mummy [4K UHD] (1999)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: 21 years down the road, I continue to enjoy 1999’s The Mummy. While it reinvents no wheels, it delivers a fun, action-packed adventure. Starring Brendan Fraser, Rachel Weisz. Universal, $22.98, 9/12/2017.

43. V For Vendetta [Blu-Ray] (2006)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Ambitious and unusual, I admire V For Vendetta more for what it attempts than what it does. It shoots for the moon but succeeds too sporadically to become a consistently successful effort. Starring Natalie Portman, Hugo Weaving. Warner, $14.97, 5/20/2008.

44. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy [Blu-Ray] (2011)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Anyone who expects an action-packed thriller from Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy will leave with disappointment. Instead, it provides a rich, involving mystery with a lot of layers to it. The Blu-ray delivers good picture and audio, while its supplements are average. Despite the spotty bonus materials, the movie itself makes this a worthwhile pick-up. Starrin

45. Assault On Precinct 13 (2005)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Though the original Assault of Precinct 13 is no classic, it looks awfully good in comparison with this tepid remake. Despite a stronger cast and better production values, the 2005 Assault is a bland, forgettable flick. Starring Ethan Hawke, Laurence Fishburne. Universal/Rogue, $29.98, 5/10/2005.

46. Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone [4K UHD] (2001)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As a movie, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone works reasonably well. I can’t call the flick a classic, but it provides a fair amount of enjoyment for what it does. Starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson. Warner, $41.99, 11/7/2017.

47. Spaceballs [Blu-Ray] (1987)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Obviously I don’t recommend Spaceballs to new viewers, but should established fans pursue the Blu-ray? Probably. It includes virtually all the same extras as the 2005 Special Edition DVD, and it provides moderately superior visuals. It’s not a killer release, but it’s pretty good. Starring Mel Brooks, Rick Moranis. MGM, $29.99, 6/16/2009.

48. The Thin Red Line: Criterion Collection [Blu-Ray] (1998)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While I won’t call The Thin Red Line a bad film, it’s definitely not one that appealed to me. I’ve now seen it three times, and though I appreciated it more with repetition - once freed from the expectations I had prior to my initial viewing - I still found little in it to sustain my attention or involve me. I thought it was lovely but ultimately empty.

49. Spaceballs: Collector's Edition (1987)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Spaceballs won’t go down as Mel Brooks’ worst movie, but that acts mostly as a reflection of the crumminess of the movies that followed it. Spaceballs provokes maybe two or three minor chuckles, but otherwise it leaves me shaking my head at all the wasted talent. Starring Mel Brooks, Rick Moranis. MGM, $29.98, 5/3/2005.

50. Lost In Space (1998)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: ...it offers reasonably exciting escapist entertainment.
