171. Skyfall [4K UHD] (2012)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Even when we adjust for inflation, Skyfall ends up among the three most successful Bond movies of all-time. I don’t view it as one of the three – or even five – best Bond flicks, but it overcomes a few prominent missteps to become a satisfying 007 adventure. Starring Daniel Craig, Judi Dench. MGM, $69.98, 10/22/2019.

172. In The Cut: Uncut Director's Edition (2003)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A confused and murky thriller/romance, In the Cut attempts to push buttons but mostly fails. It tries to explore relationships and other issues as well but just seems spotty and generally incoherent. Starring Meg Ryan, Mark Ruffalo. MGM, $26.96, 2/10/2004.

173. Transformers: The Last Knight [Blu-Ray] (2017)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Five films into the franchise, Transformers: The Last Knight lacks much creativity or excitement. It delivers the usual wild action but it fails to provide a coherent, enjoyable cinematic experience. Starring Mark Wahlberg, Anthony Hopkins. Paramount, $39.99, 9/26/2017.

174. Batman: Year One (2011)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Adapted from a much praised comic book, Batman: Year One has its moments, but it doesn’t provide a lot of satisfaction. At a mere 64 minutes, it simply lacks the breathing room to develop its characters and give us a vivid tale. The DVD offers erratic but generally good picture along with high-quality audio and a smattering of decent supplements. Bat-fan

175. Night Of The Living Dead (Colorized) (1968)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite many amateurish elements and flaws, Night of the Living Dead holds up well after more than 35 years. It succeeds as a horror movie in spite of its problems and remains probably the best example of its genre. Written & Directed by George A. Romero. Fox, $14.98, 9/7/2004.

176. Airplane!: Don't Call Me Shirley Edition (1980)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: This is definitely the DVD to buy if you don’t own the earlier release, but it’s questionable as an upgrade. That’s because this edition doesn’t improve picture or sound quality, so if that’s your main interest, it won’t be useful for you. However, it does include some good extras that didn’t appear on the prior release. Starring Robert Hays, Julie Hager

177. Bob Dylan: No Direction Home (2005)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While I don’t think No Direction Home quite lives up to expectations, it offers a pretty decent look at its subject. I’d prefer more of a focus on Bob Dylan’s music and less on the era in which he worked, but we find a generally interesting and informative overview here. Starring Bob Dylan. Paramount, $29.99, 9/20/2005.

178. Sahara (2005)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Sahara attempts to give us an action film in the Indiana Jones vein, but it ends up as a lackluster wannabe. The movie never catches fire and lacks the zest and vigor to maintain our attention. Starring Matthew McConaughey, Penelope Cruz. Paramount, $29.99, 8/30/2005.

180. Open Range: Collector's Edition (2003)
Reviewed by David Williams: When it’s all said and done, Open Range was a good film. Not great, but very good and worth the rather lengthy investment of time it takes to get through it. While, in my opinion, Costner made the film a bit too contemplative and moody, it’s still a cinematic gem in its own right. Starring Kevin Costner, Robert Duvall. Buena Vista, $29.99, 1/20/2004.
