21. Rio Bravo: Special Edition (1959)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: ... all of these factors turn Rio Bravo into a memorable western. An involving tale filled with interesting characters, it creates a good little action piece. The movie keeps us with it despite some slow spots and ends up as a winner. Starring John Wayne, Dean Martin. Warner, $20.97, 5/22/2007.

22. She Wore a Yellow Ribbon [Blu-Ray] (1949)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As far as Westerns go, She Wore A Yellow Ribbon seems firmly average. It comes with a few good character portrayals and a modicum of action, but it drags more than I’d like. Starring John Wayne, Joanne Dru. Warner, $21.99, 6/7/2016.

23. The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers - Platinum Series Extended Edition (2002)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Whether you spring for the “Collector’s Gift Set” or just stick with the standard four-DVD version, you definitely need to pick up the Special Extended Edition of The Two Towers. It offers an amazing experience that remains gripping from start to finish. I didn’t think it was possible, but with superior picture and sound plus even more supplements, thi

24. True Grit (1969)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I can't honestly say that I disliked True Grit, for it's a competently made film. However, I didn't think much of it; it seemed to be a pretty generic Western that never did anything to endear itself to me. I thought it offered a mildly interesting experience but not anything special. Starring John Wayne, Glen Campbell. Paramount, $9.98, 3/21/2000.

25. The High And The Mighty: Special Collector's Edition (1954)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: It took decades for The High and the Mighty to receive a home video release. Maybe they should have kept this turkey under wraps forever. A truly tedious and pointless film, it’s an adventure with no excitement or tension, and a drama with no depth. Starring John Wayne, Claire Trevor. Paramount, $19.98, 8/2/2005.

26. Rio Bravo [Blu-Ray] (1959)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite its length and casual pacing, Rio Bravo deserves its status as a classic flick. The movie involves us with its simple but powerful story, lively dialogue and interesting characters. Starring John Wayne, Dean Martin. Warner, $14.98, 6/2/2015.

28. El Dorado: John Wayne Collection (1967)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I don’t know if El Dorado qualifies as a cinematic classic, but it remains a memorable Western after four decades. It does enough to satisfy and entertain to make it a good flick. Unfortunately, while the DVD offers reasonably solid audio, picture quality is problematic and it lacks extras. This is an interesting movie but not a positive DVD. Starring Jo

29. Rio Bravo [4K UHD] (1959)

30. How The West Was Won: Special Edition (1962)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As one of only two narrative flicks shot with the three-panel Cinerama process, How the West Was Won merits a special place in history. That doesn’t make it a particularly engaging film, however. It always looks great, but it fails to present especially involving characters or story ... This is an impressive release. Warner, $20.98, 9/9/2008.
