- 11. Minions [Blu-Ray 3D] (2015)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As a spinoff, Minions provides occasional entertainment, but it lacks the substance necessary to carry a full movie. The lead characters just seem too one-dimensional to maintain interest across as entire feature. Starring Pierre Coffin, Sandra Bullock. Universal, $49.98, 12/8/2015.

- 12. 30 Rock: Season 4 (2009)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: 30 Rock continues to be one of the best TV series around, and we find more evidence of that in this Season Three set. Some shows fare better than others, of course, but the majority are clever and amusing. The DVDs provide acceptable picture and audio plus an erratic but usually interesting set of supplements. 30 Rock provides terrific entertainment and

- 14. Top Gun [4K UHD] (1986)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A serious piece of Eighties cheese, Top Gun doesn’t hold up well after more than 30 years. Granted, I wasn’t wild about it in 1986, but all this time later, it looks even sillier than I recalled. Starring Tom Cruise, Kelly McGillis. Paramount, $29.99, 5/19/2020.

- 16. Bridesmaids (2011)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Bridesmaids proves that “chick flicks” can be raunchy, too. While it lacks the general crudeness of male-oriented siblings like The Hangover, Bridesmaids does give us something different. It’s too long and too sentimental, but thanks to a great cast and some clever writing, it’s funny enough to succeed. The DVD provides surprisingly good picture quality

- 18. The Day The Earth Stood Still [Blu-Ray] (2008)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Fans of the original Day the Earth Stood Still greeted its 2008 remake with outrage. I’d like to join them but the new version is just so darned dull that I can’t muster the energy; I don’t care enough about this film to feel real emotion toward it. The Blu-ray provides generally good picture, excellent audio, and a reasonably informative set of extras.

-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Season Five probably doesn’t deliver the best of 30 Rock, but it shows that the series continues to be pretty good. Some episodes falter, but we find more wheat than chaff. The DVDs offer perfectly acceptable picture and audio along with a decent set of supplements. 30 Rock fans will want to give this release a look. Starring Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin. Univ
