31. Hellboy: Special Edition (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Based on my first glimpses of its trailer, I thought Hellboy would be a silly dud. However, the flick provided a pleasant surprise. A lively and well-executed comic book movie, it occasionally faltered but it offered many more positives than negatives. Starring Ron Perlman, Selma Blair. Columbia TriStar, $28.96, 7/27/2004.

32. Undeclared: The Complete Series (2001)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Although Undeclared doesn’t live up to the levels of predecessor Freaks and Geeks, it stands as a fine series in its own right. Consistently funny and engaging, it offers a lot of entertainment and creativity across its short life. Created by Judd Apatow. Sony Music, $49.98, 8/16/2005.

33. Hellboy: Director's Cut (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: If you already bought the first set, should you snare this one as well? Only if you really adore Hellboy. The three-disc set is superior but not by much; the two-DVD one is an amazing piece of work on its own. There’s not enough added here to make it worth picking up in addition to the theatrical DVD unless you’re a Hellboy die-hard. Starring Ron Perlman

34. The Great Depression (2009)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: If you want a concise history of the series’ subject matter, look somewhere other than The Great Depression. While the series provides a lot of interesting facts and observations, it lacks coherence and doesn’t impart a solid history of the Depression ... I wanted to like The Great Depression but I can’t say it did a lot for me other than make me want to

35. Blade Runner: 5-Disc Complete Collector's Edition [Blu-Ray] (1982)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Blade Runner remains a seminal science fiction piece that only seems to improve with additional viewings; its place within the annals of film appears secure. This set includes the director’s “Final Cut”, which indeed probably offers the most satisfying rendition of the film. The Blu-Ray looks absolutely stunning, and it adds very good audio and a long,

36. Blade Runner: 30th Anniversary Edition [Blu-Ray Book] (1982)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Which is a shame. Viewed on its own, the “30th Anniversary” Blu-ray of Blade Runner is an awesome set. Even without all those extras, it still includes so many materials that it deserves an “A+” for supplements ... But it’s not the definitive release of the film. Blade Runner remains a classic, and the Blu-ray brings it home in satisfying fashion. Howe

37. Blade Runner: 4-Disc Collector's Edition (1982)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: That leaves the debate between the two-disc and four-disc releases. Both have their merits, especially since its $20.99 MSRP makes the two-disc set the bargain of the year. But I think this four-disc version will be the one preferred by most fans. At $34.99, it remains reasonably priced, and it packs in more than enough good extras to make it worthwhile.

38. Blade Runner: 5-Disc Ultimate Collector's Edition (1982)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I’m glad I got the UCE, as I think it’s a nice set, and I’m enough of a completist that it was worth it to me. However, it’s just too damned expensive to be worthwhile for most people. The fifth DVD is the only real attraction, as the non-disc-based materials are a bit of a joke. Is it worth an extra $44 for one DVD and some cheap toys? For 99 percent of

39. 3:10 to Yuma [4K UHD] (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Perhaps not as effective as the 1957 version of the tale, 2007’s 3:10 to Yuma still offers an effective Western. It offers its own approach to the subject and creates an involving drama. Starring Christian Bale, Russell Crowe. Lionsgate, $19.99, 5/2/2017.
