51. Rio Bravo: Special Edition (1959)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: ... all of these factors turn Rio Bravo into a memorable western. An involving tale filled with interesting characters, it creates a good little action piece. The movie keeps us with it despite some slow spots and ends up as a winner. Starring John Wayne, Dean Martin. Warner, $20.97, 5/22/2007.

52. The Last Waltz: Criterion Collection [Blu-Ray] (1978)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While I cannot say I agree that The Last Waltz stands as the greatest concert film ever made, I also cannot deny that it provides a fine piece of work. Waltz provides an elegant and visually compelling film. Starring The Band, Bob Dylan. Criterion, $39.95, 3/29/2022.

54. New York, New York: 30th Anniversary Edition (1977)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: If you want to own a DVD Of New York and don’t have the old one, you may as well get this one. It offers the same picture and audio but adds a few moderately interesting supplements. I wouldn’t push for a “double dip”, though. If MGM had improved the non-anamorphic transfer, then it might warrant your attention, but a smattering of new extras don’t merit

55. GoldenEye [Blu-Ray] (1995)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: After a six-year break, 1995’s GoldenEye brought the Bond franchise back to prominence. 24 years later, it remains a fun and inviting adventure. Starring Pierce Brosnan, Sean Bean. MGM, $14.98, 9/15/2015.

56. The Poseidon Adventure [Blu-Ray] (1972)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Beyond nostalgia and some good action scenes, The Poseidon Adventure doesn’t offer much to a modern audience. It suffers from many inane elements and a generally poor sense of pacing and storytelling. Starring Gene Hackman, Ernest Borgnine. Fox, $9.98, 10/9/2012.

57. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (Extended Edition) [Blu-Ray] (2012)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While not as good as any of the Lord of the Rings films, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey launches a new franchise in an enjoyable manner. The movie’s “Extended Edition” delivers a mild variation on the theatrical cut that’s fun to see but doesn’t substantially alter/improve the original. Starring Ian McKellen, Martin Freeman. New Line, $24.98, 11/5/201

59. The Poseidon Adventure: Special Edition (1972)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I don’t like Poseidon enough to recommend it to neophytes, but already-established fans will get a big kick from this solid DVD. That goes for all the folks who already own the old “movie-only” release. This set improves on that one in every possible way and is a very worthwhile upgrade. Starring Gene Hackman, Ernest Borgnine. Fox, $19.98, 5/9/2006.

60. GoldenEye: Ultimate Edition (1995)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Should folks who already own the prior release pursue this Ultimate Edition? Yes, though don’t expect it to blow away the prior DVD. Actually, it demonstrates a noticeable improvement in terms of picture quality, and it throws in some good new extras as well. It just suffers from a few more flaws than I’d like. Starring Pierce Brosnan, Sean Bean. MGM, $8
