21. Alvin And The Chipmunks: The Road Chip [Blu-Ray] (2015)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Four films in, fans know exactly what to expect from the Alvin and the Chipmunks franchise: mediocre family entertainment. The Road Chip replicates the formula with a watchable but forgettable experience. Starring Jason Lee, Justin Long. Fox, $39.99, 3/15/2016.

22. Speed Racer (2008)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With its trippy visuals, Speed Racer looks unlike anything else from the summer 2008 crop of potential blockbusters. Unfortunately, it never succeeds as more than eye candy. The movie lacks much real drama or excitement; it throws visual splendor at us but fails to back up the images with anything else ... This is a great disc to use to show off your hom

23. The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A fairly messy mish-mash of a superhero flick, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen sits as one of 2003’s bigger disappointments. Director Stephen Norrington set the bar high with his prior flick, but LXG doesn’t remotely live up to the highs of Blade. Starring Sean Connery. Fox, $29.98, 12/16/2003.

24. Ice Age: The Meltdown [Blu-Ray] (2006)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Although the original film offered only modest pleasures, Ice Age – The Meltdown couldn’t even live up to its minor legacy. Disjointed and rarely amusing, the sequel fails to stake out any interesting territory. The Blu-ray presents generally good picture and excellent audio along with a positive roster of extras headlined by two useful audio commentarie

25. (500) Days Of Summer [Blu-Ray] (2009)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I’m happy to see something that breaks with the romantic comedy norm, but (500) Days of Summer tries so hard to avoid conventions that it boxes itself in a corner. It creates its own tedious clichés in its self-conscious attempt to be Different and Quirky. The Blu-ray provides reasonably good picture and audio along with a nice collection of supplements.

26. The Americans: The Complete First Season [Blu-Ray] (2013)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Season One of The Americans gives us often good but erratic entertainment. While I like the series’ attempts to combine an action/spy piece with a character drama, it favors the latter too much of the time and loses sight of the appropriate balance. The Blu-ray delivers solid picture and audio but lacks substantial bonus materials. Despite some ups and d

27. Alvin And The Chipmunks [Blu-Ray] (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Alvin and the Chipmunks became a major left-field hit, but I can’t figure out why. The film offers mild amusement but nothing much to make it stand out from the crowd. The Blu-ray gives us good picture, ordinary audio, and some mediocre extras. This is the best presentation of the movie on home video, but its lack of substantial extras – and the absence

28. Eddie the Eagle [Blu-Ray] (2016)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While mildly watchable, Eddie the Eagle never becomes an especially invigorating inspirational movie. It touches on all the genre clichés without any real attempt to add life. Starring Taron Egerton, Hugh Jackman. Fox, $39.99, 6/14/2016.

30. The Tale Of Despereaux (2008)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite its “believe in yourself” message, The Tale of Despereaux provides a surprisingly dark, foreboding tale. That tone allows it to stand out from the crowd, and the rest of the film does enough right to create an interesting piece of work ... This would be fine entertainment for kids ages eight and up or so; despite the presence of the cute big-eare
