211. Van Helsing: Collector's Edition (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: If you want to own Van Helsing and don’t possess the original DVD, the CE is clearly the way to go due to all its extras. If you do already have the old disc, though, it’s tough to recommend an “upgrade”. Sure, the extra platter of supplements is nice, but it’s the only difference between the two, and it’s not worth the additional expense. Starring Hugh

213. The Chronicles Of Narnia: Prince Caspian (Collector's Edition) (2008)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Although I didn’t think The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe was a great film, it looks like a classic compared to its sequel. The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian lacks its predecessor’s minor magic and charm. It provides a fairly tired, dull tale and never manages to become special or involving ... 214. Spider-Man 3 [Blu-Ray] (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Although Spider-Man 3 seems destined to go down as the franchise’s least well-regarded effort – at least of the first three – I don’t agree with all the negativity thrown its way. While the film has its flaws, it still provides a strong adventure with a warm emotional center not usually found in comic book material. It certainly succeeds more than it fai

215. Ben-Hur: Collector's Edition (1959)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: More than 40 years after its initial release, Ben-Hur remains the definition of a screen epic. As a film, it still has a lot to offer - particularly in the excellent chariot race sequence - but some other elements haven’t aged quite as well ... This top-notch DVD release does the classic justice. Starring Charlton Heston, Jack Hawkins. Warner, $39.92, 9/

216. Cinderella [Blu-Ray] (1950)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Cinderella would deserve a special place in animation history simply because it revived the fortunes at Disney. However, it’s more than that, as the flick is still as charming and winning now as it was 62 years ago. The Blu-ray delivers excellent visuals along with adequate audio and a reasonably interesting set of supplements. I wish we got more extensi

217. Schindler's List (1993)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I know I’m firmly in the minority in regard to my negative opinion of Schindler’s List, but I really don’t understand the overwhelming praise given to the movie. It tells an important story but does so with too much manipulation and too little subtlety. Add to that a lack of depth from the characters and it seems like a flawed examination of its subject.

218. Freddy Versus Jason: Platinum Series (2003)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Most of Freddy Vs. Jason is the same old, same old. Occasionally the killings provide memorable moments; the shot of a flaming Jason as he slays in a cornfield comes to mind. Otherwise, the simplistic characters and excessively convoluted plot weigh down this flick. I don’t know if the die-hards will like it, but it leaves me fairly cold. Starring Robert

219. Ben-Hur [Blu-Ray] (1959)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I do really like the Blu-ray Ultimate Collector’s Edition, but I understand that it’s pretty expensive, especially since it doesn’t add many new supplements to the party; other than the “Personal Journey” documentary and the paper materials, everything here appeared on the 2005 Ben-Hur DVD ...
